Crumar mojo! It was a bit trippy the first week but now it doesnāt affect my playing at all. Maybe gets me in the āorgan mindsetā? I donāt know, but it is sweet

Iāve got GIK panels in my studio as well. Theyāre ace. In retrospect I wish Iād gone for a slightly different shade (theyāre black - lol) but the sound in this room is as dead as a door nail, which is just how I like it.
Canāt beat that feeling of having your own space you can retreat into & create worlds of sound.

Yeah itās such a game changer being able to hear stuff cleanly and accurately. Itās like having a fog lifted. Now Iām weighing up adding more traps and panels on the back wall but the price sure adds up
Iāve got a couple of panels on the wooden stands so I can move them out of the way and tbh I rarely use them. They do make a bit of difference but not that much.
Youāve got a wooden floor & Iāve got carpet though, so they might make more of a difference for you.
Iām more chasing a smooth bass response than I am a dead room with no flutter. Iāve got a rug though.
Youāll be the judge, ofc, but I reckon you donāt need extra trapping with everything youāve got there now. The only minor improvement you might make might be to get some tri-traps for the corners (Iām presuming the panels in the corner are flat panels that youāve angled).
Iāve got the monster traps and although they do help a fair bit with bass response they are absolutely massive, and probably complete overkill.

The ones in the corners are tri-traps. Iām gonna stick with this setup for a while. Itās def good enough. But I do reckon a couple of soffits in the rear corners would help even out the bass response even further.
Whenever I get carried away with thoughts about sound traps I get this mental image of a sound engineer sat in a tiny Apollo-capsule-sized space in the middle of a massive room filled with sound trapping saying āHmm. I still think the bass response could be smootherā.

How are you liking having the Hydra rack mounted? Do you still feel like youāre getting use out of it?
I have a big live gig next week and then when I get home Iām reorganizing my studio. Iāve been thinking about a rack for my Hydra and my Virus.
Yes - with the caveat that I spent most of the week working through little QoL details about how I have MIDI and audio routing configured with this MPC setup. Iām not at the point yet where Iām lying on the floor devising new patches on the Hydrasynth. But since Iāve eaten up most of the available desktop space with everything else and had 9U of rack space sitting empty, itās better to have the Hydra in the low rack than not have it available at all.
I previously had the Hydra rack mounted at the top of a 5.5ā tall synth tower case and that was very convenient - overall, I prefer it racked to sitting on a desk.
