Your Setups (Part 2)

oh nice! Soma Lyra on my wish list along with a Buchla, Prophet 10., Hexdrums, Perkons, LnDrumm and Waldorf M. Probably wait another few years to master my current and new gears and fix stuff on the home.

I’ll get a picture of the rest over the weekend lol  Nah but seriously I been watching videos all night of this Oxi One MKII  I’m thinking about it but… I already have great sequencers in the Elektron gear so I’m debating with myself whether or not the Oxi One would be overkill???

you have to do your homework and check what the specs of the Mbase are vs what the Ojai can provide. also, double check barrel polarity and all that… center positive? etc so, if you can figure all that out there’s a chance the Ojai will power the Mbase but w/o knowing those details no one can answer that question.

Specs for the Mbase 11 PSU:

9v, 300mA, 2.5mm x 5.5mm straight female center positive

Answer from Perplexity: The Strymon Ojai outputs 9V DC at 500mA, which matches the required voltage and exceeds the necessary current, but uses 2.1mm x 5.5mm barrel connectors with center-negative polarity, while the Mbase 11 needs a 2.5mm x 5.5mm barrel connector with center-positive polarity.

I suppose you could solder up your own custom cable to work, but… effort.

Strymon makes polarity reversing barrel connectors. Can be purchased from their on line store or from 3rd party retailer. But the barrel size difference is another story.

[change display on my MC-505]This week I added my first pedal (upper right, blue Led) M-VAVE Classic delay (input from TD3-Mo into Focusrite) (not on photo), bought my first MIDI-Merger (from Midi-Solutions on MP) to control MD more realtime from the Behringer BCR-2000, changed my own display (The day after Cenk goodbye - #167 by J8W8) for a newer one of my Roland MC-505 (also thanks to Muomi). And found some new cables to connect it all :ok_hand::innocent::+1:t3:

I think you might need to start a new thread on this house. I have queries.

That’s really nice. How do you like the Nina?

It looks comprehensive but I think it’s begging for a quality 61 key controller with aftertouch.

Iā€˜m not a keys player, but I can see the point for those who are. One of the reasons I got it is that it’s a module with an ideal size and shape to integrate it into my setup. Most other analog modules are too wide for my table.

I mainly got the Nina for UI and workflow reasons, and am glad I did. The motors just make all the difference, where you can use patches and multitimbral layers and perform away without having to do the silly catch shenanigans that other synths force you to.

It’s sound range is quite wide Iā€˜d say, thanks to the wavetables. The only thing I don’t like too much about it is its higher range, it always sounds a bit squeeky and unpleasant in higher octaves, especially with the filter rather open. So I wouldn’t call it an allrounder, it has a character. Iā€˜m mostly using these synths for one note basses or leads that I can then perform with and for this it’s phenomenal and sounds incredible.bIt adds that character I miss from my Elektrons without doing much.

This is the standalone setup consisting of a push3, LC xl2 behind the cat, and a torso T1 (which is swappable between here and the desktop setup).

Behind everything there is a zoom u44, and a edifier d32 speaker

Astrolab is really nice but there are some bugs that Arturia didn’t mention anywhere, but they are open to swap the unit for a new one if I please

Using this so I have sound parity on desktop and here, developing a live rig setup for playing.

I really love sound design in pigments but prefer paying hardware synths… if they ever made an astrolab 37 or 49 I’d be a buyer

I’m flying solo at church today, so figured I’d have some fun with it!

Starcaster → tuner, Slƶ, Morning Glory, and Avalanche Run.
M:C on bass, chords, and drums with lots of chance/conditional trigs (just to make myself smile during the set haha)

That’s awesome! But what in god’s name are you playing with a setup like that in church?
