Thanks! I’m going to try powersliding into them on a low curb to start I think.
Still a tiny bit of cable optimization needed but really enjoying how this came together.
NDLR Sequences Tooro.
Razz and Ambient 0 sequence themselves.
Setup as 8 tracks in BlueBox.
had a white 3d kick port. so i custom painted in aqua blue and also painted the front bass drum head
I’m working on a jamming/learning station that I can roll into the living room. Recent arrivals are a Liquid Stands stand and a Plexus 4 MIDI router. Would love to replace the Moukey with a Jellymix. I have a smallish modular case which might replace the Hydrasynth sometimes. I haven’t quite figured out how or whether to integrate the RK-008. I originally got it thinking I’d use it for polyphony on the Syntakt but then I got the Micromonsta 2. Syntakt + Micromonsta + Torso seems like a fun minimalist configuration.
So fresh. Love the Metalheadz stencils
Nice! How do you integrate Retrokits in your setup?
(just asking for a friend
thanks mate
As I said, I haven’t figured that out!
Black Is the new black
sry, missed that in your post
Haven’t posted my setup in while, as not much has changed until a few weeks ago.
Swapped my genloss2 for a kinotone ribbons and it’s awesome. The guitar FX chain now goes Clean → Lossy → HX One → Ribbons → Iridium. I used to keep my Lossy at the end before the amp (Iridium) for the reverb, but I like the Ribbons much better in this position. And Lossy is kind of a great modulation pedal when using the internal LFO to modulate the loss knob (weird tremolo) or the filter frequency (inverted for a weird phaser). And having another reverb available early in the chain allows for some nice shoegaze tones, as I can then put that through some wonky modulation on the HX One and crank the wobbles and saturation on Ribbons.
The bass guitar sounds nice through the same FX chain, although I mostly use Clean and the HX One then with the Iridium off.
The newest and most impactful addition is the tx-6, though. My old sound interface crapped out, so I thought I’d treat myself with one that has multiple stereo inputs. And it’s a great sounding mixer with lots of cool features on top. I can route every input through the cue output for sampling into the OP-1f. Or I can send any input through my FX chain through the aux output (I only have to unplug my guitar/bass and switch Clean to stereo in). The FX return can then still be routed through the cue output for sampling into the OP-1f. Crazy good fun.
The OP-XY goes in on two channels of the tx-6, one that takes the main output (synths) and another one for the multi out port (percussion). The OP-XY controls some internal drum machine sounds (kick and snare) on the tx-6 via Bluetooth midi. Works nicely, but a big downside is that the drum machine on the tx-6 doesn’t react to velocity. I hope TE are able to make that happen in the future. Other than that, I’m very impressed with the tx-6.
Of all the TE products, the TX6 is the most appealing to me.
At the very least to replace my giant heavy brick of a mixer taking up valuable space in my small setup… not to mention the battery power & ability to record directly to USB.
It is a cracking device and moreso considering the size! Would prob be more successful if double the size as it would still be crazy small and slightly easier to fiddle the knobs
The funny thing is, I have a full size Mackie mixer and literally never touch the knobs aside from initial new synth setup. Once I plug in a new synth, dial in its levels relative to the other devices… thats it.
@Kultschar & @stevebk, you’re both right. The tx-6 would be easier to tweak if it were bigger, but I also rarely find myself changing the EQ knobs. It’s set and forget for me. Surprisingly, the sliders are very comfy to use although they are also tiny. Setting up cue and aux configurations are straight forward and fast, as well.
I just want to sit in this space and twiddle knobs! So nice.
Moved some stuff around and out of the studio. This is now my favorite place to sit and ruminate.
edit: actually it’s not, but it’s up there on par with my shower stool at least.
edit2: (within the confines of my apartment)
I can smell edit #2 coming, mate
