It actually works fine for the little bit I need to roll for working at my desk. Probably not the best for the rug long term, but it’s not an expensive rug and I haven’t noticed any wear after like five months. The wheels on the Steelcase chair are quite good, perhaps that helps. No idea.
nice
how are the dynaudios?
i have the BM5A mkiii which I love
Excellent! I got them used at a shop in Tokyo years ago for a steal. Maybe the best deal on audio equipment I’ve ever gotten. Someone sold them to them to my local shop as broken (for basically no money). The shop sent them in to be serviced and it turned out it was just a blown fuse. Since they got them for nearly free they sold them to me for like a couple hundred bucks or something. I happened to be there the day they came back from being repaired, so right place at the right time.
that is a steal!
my intuition says i’ll get them one day and they’ll be my one and done monitor purchase. i’m very happy with the BM5A MKIII in the mean time.
Yeah, these are it for me as well. I originally wanted a sub to go with them but never found one of the Dynaudio ones here in Japan, and I think it would be too much for my small space.
I picked those up for my son a while back, and he loves them. I was actually a bit jealous, because they seem like a ton of fun, and sound great!
We installera a new pump which draws heat from 200 meter down in our yard, the pipes had to go through my daughters room in the basement, so we decided to move the home office to her room.
I quite like it down here, it’s comfy!
Waaaaaait a minute…
That’s funny! I HAD a super comfy basement room for my studio a long time ago. Until my daughter took it from me. Now I have a room on the main floor, and it’s ok, but not quite the same.
lol, her choice. She loves painting and she could be more free with that in the basement. It’s a carpeted room but it still had more space
@J3RK knows what I’m talking about
Basement is a great place to hide and make noise!
Now THAT’S a beautiful setup!
Basement studio troglodytes unite!
Heh :]
I’m goofing around, but you probably know that already. My best friend lived in basement, when we were teenagers. To add salt to injury, his context looked like took from some old tale. His father passed (mother at birth) and he was left with step mother, who hated him, and while his two half siblings lived with mother above ground, he lived in basement. Also: by his own choice - to have peace. Non the less, without full explanation, while telling about his home, he got many eyebrows higher and higher, as story unfolded. :]
Sorry for OT. Carry on!
lol, no worries about OT. That does sound like he got the bad end of the stick of a fairytale
It’s Elektron who should be sorry for OT, not you!
(OT pretty much feels like Elektron’s stepchild who lives in the basement at this point btw)
I can’t believe it’s taken so long to get an apology for the Octatrack. Hehehe. Honestly though, I’d love to try one sometime. It’s the only Elektron machine that I haven’t owned now aside from the effects/Heat/etc. I just don’t really need it for anything.
The plan is to create a live set using this setup.
I’ve spend the last two weeks creating an ableton midi control script for those three K2s. Including a session and a note mode with a different step sequencer for instruments and drum racks. I can now even do ratchets at a per step basis It has 8 tracks, 3 return channels and a master channel.
Further I mapped the ableton variations device by default to the bottom right button, for quick access for recall and stash (using shift).
There are a few details that i wasn’t able to do yet. Eg displaying the playhead and per step automation of the send knobs.
The Roto Contol finally allows me to use Plugins like real gear!
