Your Setups (Part 1)

Yeah, perfect setup for me. Can even throw some VSTs in the mix via overbridge If I wanted to.

This (plus the Arturia keylab 49 mk2 under the desk) is really all I need to create something that resembles music. It feels compact and manageable , but at the same time offers many possibilities and workflows to play around with.

lovely fit! stop all sales! stick with that.

Virus FX on P12… does it get any better?

Too late… going have to try those Virus fx on a Rev2

I think you might have to ditch your desks and keyboard stands and install conveyor belts. It’d be easier on your back. :stuck_out_tongue:

(looking around my own room and wondering what I can trade for a conveyor belt…)

Gotta find a roboto sushi place that’s gone under, and turn it into a studio

Edit: you’d definitely want wireless MIDI connections.

How is the Roland KC stereo when it comes to basses.
Did you try it in external ? Is it enough to play in skate Park or similar outdoor places ?

I’d say it has pretty good bass definition given its size — you’d get more from the bigger Roland amps, but this one is super portable (and stereo), so it’s just a matter of preference. I played in a band with a guy who used the big KC-550 and it sounded wicked for bass but it was a massive amp.

I’ve only played indoors with this amp but it’s got a lot of volume to offer, I think it would do well in an outdoor setting. Planning to get some outdoor jams in soon so I’ll try to remember to report back.

Would be nice. Thanks. I’m looking for something for external AR exhibitions.

We need a report, thx.

It’s quite nice. Everything sounds clean and I’ve found myself stopping a lot just testing out the presets. This Epic Steel one (Diatonic/Shimmer) is real neat.

Before and after with the shimmer down a lil.

Another slim down of sorts: Mako M1 is in and rev 2 is boxed up (considering selling it). Computer stuff has been moved downstairs for mental separation. Random painting of Snowdonia my wife got off eBay used to cover DIY butchery to the wall

My brain properly really struggles with too many options on the desk. Some of the amazing massive setups above would absolutely paralyze me.

Trying to make this setup work.

(crossposted from Lines, but I read this thread too!)

I recently broke my promise to myself NOT to modify my setup until winter, and I am very grateful to myself for doing it. I eliminated my MioXM and Bluebox and replaced them with an iPad running AUM and a USB hub. Then I took a friend’s advice and put the modular right in front of me (which also involved moving modules around). It’s much more ergonomic and the Perfourmer is easily integrated as extra oscillators and modulation if I need it. I also integrated the Implexus, which I am really enjoying. It is currently patched to Maths in this image. We also recently acquired a piano. The speaker will soon have a small guitar amp on it for practice (I just haven’t set it up yet).

The walls need a bit more decoration (or possibly more treatment) but for now, this is a very happy musical space.

I wish I had the photography skills of others on this thread.

I’m intensely curious because I have more or less the same setup now (with the ST instead of the DT, and a Machinedrum on the side…), how are you routing or using the Torso?

Do you keep everything connected/daisy chained directly, or do you use a mixer/patchbay?

Cable management in progress…

Edit: after cable management

Am using Torso as main MIDI clock.

Midi:
MIDI out to OT
OT MIDI out and thru to a merge box.
Merge out 1 to DN
DN thru to A4 Mk2
Merge out 2 to DT

Audio:
DT > OT AB
A4 Mk2 > DN in
DN > OT CD
OT > MOTU (light eq + soft comp)
MOTU > FMR RNC

Some OT MIDI parameters had to be changed so that T1 would not interfere with OT audio tracks or recorders.

Note:
I have noticed far less variation in micro tempo display on DT and DN since having T1 as master clock.

I’m curious about your mioXM to iPad+usb hub switch. Can you describe roughly how you were able to replace all of the mios functionality?

Update. I played out with the RackRigā„¢ once, and it was a bad move. Heavy and awkward for one person to move. Yeah yeah… should have known.

I reconfigured everything into a really light TempleAudio pedalboard. DualLockĀ® and ZipTiesā„¢ win!
