You need to modulate the delay time more
Digitone, because it still confuses me when trying to program sounds and sound-wise also didn’t quite clicked with me yet. But since it’s my latest purchase, I’ll give it more time, meanwhile it also serves as FX processor for Neutron and its audio input into DAW.
It’s followed by Neutron (no patch storage, not a fan of patch cables) and Opsix (a bit clunky to program and takes too much space for a monotimbral synth). They both sound great though, which is why I’m keeping them for now.
Yeah a lot of people complain about the lack of character at all.
For me is the heart of the setup right now. But I’m not sure yet. I think I like more the interface than the sound. Time will tell
Don’t tell @Jeanne but for me it’s the Syntakt. It’s in the waiting room, i keep it for now for the analog machines but for the rest, I’m too busy with the M8.
I wouldn’t say A4 doesn’t have any character. It does.
I just prefer something like Juno and Arp, dirty and gritty. I’ve tried to get these sounds from A4 with some success, but there are synths in my collection which make it easier.
Rd-6, minilogue, jd-08 . All great but prefer RD-8, prophet, d-05 that I have
TR-6s, don’t really see myself using it ever again really, maybe if I go hiking
The Bass Station II, unfortunately. Such a great and powerful synth but it was forced into an early retirement when I picked up an SE-02 last year.
for the amount of space it takes up, probably my Korg Prologue 8. It’s definitely the one I feel the most guilty not using.
It sounds great, multiengine is fantastic, (I really like the Node 4 operator FM synth engine from sine waves)
It’s just very big and I’m not much of keys player. When I take it out, I’m mostly sequencing it externally.
The one i have now was given to me by a good friend a long time ago but the first one i remember playing with belonged to an uncle that always had the cool things, such as computers, when they started to be available ( When you had to load games from cassette players).
Always loved the sounds and i’m excited to plug it in the Strega, i’m sure it will be awesome.
Never handled circuit bending stuff, but yeah it could be fun !
I lived in that era.
Curious to listen your experiments with Strega and other machines
Which ones ? Can you tell ?
As do i !
Subharmonicon. I think that’s what it’s called.
I do that so much I bought right angle cables so I can just leave them plugged in forever!
It’s funny but Behringer synths. I love Neutron filters, and Deepmind is one of my favorite synths.
cough cough … it actually took me a while to unearth the goodies it can provide for my music, however the reason I bought it in the first place was (practical as I am) that it is like 4 BSIIs + 4 Sequencers
Korg N5 - my first hardware synth many moons ago! Great synth action key bed with really nice after touch feel so I kept it around as a midi controller even after I’d mostly moved onto other sound sources.
The presets are very 90s Korg flavour but I should maybe get it out of storage again to either sell or make use of somehow. I remember it did have some nice evolving pads and there’s probably potential if I make the effort!
Okay, I meant another kind of dirt
But your video is exactly what I meant when told about the A4s character. Very versatile beast.
For me it’s the Arturia Minibrute 2S. I used it a lot for years, but as other things claim desk space, I never find myself setting it up lately, so it’s on the shelf with a dust cover these days.
The main reason I don’t sell it is because it has great CV connectivity. I don’t currently need that, but knowing me it will become necessary after selling it. I don’t think I would get much money for it either.
I really do like the synth, even though it feels like I’ve explored it to the max. This thread is making me want to pull it off the shelf and maybe do something fun with it and the Octatrack.
