Your modulars (Part 2)

I love the calm operation of the OS, the stable form of functions and such, the modular approach and really extended functions of „basic“ things even if you use it as a make noise NUSS unit, the one signal - multiple output behavior is there in an extended form ^^

Hey hey, here is my demo of the GTE by Make Noise for those who might be interested

Zlosynth Instruments Arplus combines a quantizer, arpeggiator, and string synthesizer into one module. Select from a variety of scales, including Western diatonic scales, microtonal Arabic maqam, Indian melakarta, Japanese pentatonics, or quarter, semi, and whole tone scales. Use the arpeggiator to create note patterns based on a selected chord and scale. Control other modules using 1V/oct output, or take advantage of the built-in 6 channels of string synthesis to produce anything from subtle plucks and staccatos to ensemble-like pads and resonating soundscapes.

Hoping to see a video of it in action.

Pretty cool! I liked the “weirder” stuff lol!

Make Noise stuff seems to be getting a bit more abstract / confusing of late! This is kind of how I imagined the Jumbler worked!

Edit and just like that Make Noise upload a video with Jumbler AND GTE

Looks like another Make Noise module being teased (Soundhack)

I actually did the same. I started with a used Tape&Microsound Sound System I could find at a great price and I expanded it to a Resynthesizer buying used modules/case. I chose to skip the second Maths and use an XPO+ModDemix instead building what I suppose is a SystemX ?!?. A system that Walker used in a lot of his youtube tutorials back in 2020-2023. I personally like it very much. As I own also a Make Noise Easel I can use the 0-coast Slew for an extra modulation source (to make up for the lack of an extra Maths). XPO really adds up and makes a hybrid of Exotic + Straghtforward Music Instrument.

Below you can see it (the patch is actually worth copying and inspired by the Resynthesizer manual Morphagene-Spectraphon section)

I want to give the patch a try soon, but once I make some module changes. I don’t have x-pan, but I should be able to make it work.

I made the decision a while back to revert my case back to pre-NUSS as I haven’t added on the latest modules, but could revisit a full NUSS system as another case later. Hopefully I can get my modules back in this weekend!

Need more modulators?

Awesome, I have been chasing a ReSynthesizer for ever, can not find one anywhere! Share sounds!

Very cool!! I spent yesterday playing with my Spectraphon case and trying to learn it but man it’s going over my head a bit despite watching videos!

My Echophon just arrived today which I have just installed - nice to have a delay in this system which was lacking whilst I hunted for one!!

It’s been nearly a year of gathering up modules to make a bit of a Frankenstein Shared System. I love the STO so much that I had to include one in this to go with the DPO! Just the black Phonogene and black Telharmonic to arrive which are in the post so I will have to make some sacrifices somewhere, pressure points I guess the obvious one to make room - possibly the Tempi / Woggle / PP and Rene into a controller skiff. I also have a QMMG sat on the side looking lonely but I have a love the relationship with it so far.

I finally have my modular sidecar for my semi-modulars up and running. I’m absolutely in love with the Doepfer ribbon controller - one of my goals was to make a low-budget version of the Swarmatron and I feel like, with a fair bit of overdubbing, I’m getting there. It’s incredibly expressive, I’m currently using it where I have pressure patched to the filter cutoff which is very fun.

I need to figure out at some point how to get rid of the clicking on release. The voltage drops to zero when you release so you get a thud sound when you do so. Wish it had a setting to prevent that, I get why you’d need it to drop to zero for some uses but not for note.

Patch in a slew limiter?

Thanks - I had read that might help but I’m new to modular so wasn’t sure. I’ve got 43hp left in my case, I’ll grab a slew limiter and give that shot

Can you use the hold switch on the module? That should keep the voltage from dropping. I don’t have it but I happened to be reading the manual last night.

Yes but then it keeps playing after you release the ribbon. Ideally I’d like it to stop playing on release but not make a thud sound when i do.
