Both seem pretty nice. I’d probably end up using the Messor as a VCA with added compressor at the end of a voice, a luxury usually reserved for the DAW. I think there’s a hole in the market here, hrm… Elektron, perhaps a modular Heat FX?
The messor is better than 19“ units 5-10 times that price. I use it for final compression of my output signal to get that punch. By the Way the Ooots output module has really nice analog saturation build in and is only 165€
Oots looks nice but I’m looking for slightly different functionality. I wouldn’t be surprised if it sounds good though, I have the Hyrlo 4h stereo mixer and it works as promised.
Here’s a little system that I’ve been having some fun with. It was originally intended for someone that was unable to receive it. Unfortunately for me, I have some huge parts restocking to do soon, so it will likely go up for sale very soon. I’m having a lot of fun with it in the meantime though. ![]()
The Super Gemini and it seem to get along well
I did forget where the keyboard split was for the Gemini patch part way through. ![]()
And the one I made the other night. I use the slider on the crossfader module to release the steam once in a while. Gotta monitor steam pressure of course!
Swapped the under-used triple toms module in my “Techno System” for a Perkons voice and a tiny 2hp delay… ![]()
there’s plenty of compressors in euro (even a ssl bus comp from audioscape), and even more distortion/saturation options. not sure exactly what you’re looking for, as rolling a heat + fx would be fairly easy and way more configurable than the elektron unit
I sold my LXR and got this. I prefer it a lot more. There are menus, but I don’t find them too bad, and I generally hate menu diving on modules. The trade of is flexibility. It has a ton of it. You can choose what drum module you want for each track, and the sound shaping is pretty comprehensive.
Got my little 84HP Nifty Case all set up. Pretty fun for ambient type crap ![]()
At some point, the Oneiroi might go into this little 44 HP skiff I have so I can add a few more options to the 84 HP case. Fine, starting to miss having 10Ux104HP about now!
What is that lovely case? Self made?
It’s made by Ross Lamond. I’ve had it for years. Bought it used on modwiggler.
Cheers!
Ross is great! Does excellent work. Nice setup!
I have to say I am slightly annoyed I waited so long to get a synth with banana jacks… it just feels so luxurious.
Ive been so intrigued by their devices…
How much does that little thing cost?
£999 shipping worldwide included, no PSU (it’s very common).
I’ve been enjoying ModelQ2 a lot. It’s very accessible and fun to play (although I’d love more faders). I expected to be a bit more on-your-face all the time but it’s easy to tame it down and leave the DSP more space.
The output is complex enough not to need further processing, although it plays nice with a filterbank and a touch of reverb ofc.
I found it’s good on its own, but it’s not too hard to find context with other instruments / layers.
UI is way more accessible than I anticipated, which is something I was actually not looking for. I was looking for an exploratory instrument that I could just not learn thoroughly (like I do with everything) and end with the same results (like it usually happens). I think this is the perfect balance: I won’t forget basic navigation but I will forget what parameters I’m tweaking if I don’t play it for a few days.
Footprint, presets and desktop app are just the cherry on top.
Almost RMR size
Who also shows off the new Tobinski sequencer and expander wich just seem to fit your empty spot ![]()
Yeah I need to do a print out to remember what a few of the layers do, a great system for getting into complex sound designish sounds quickly my guess is it is the most immediately approachable of the destiny plus things especially with the usb/midi controller options.
