Lay em out, doesn’t matter how good or bad, when or what.

First track I recorded and mixed in Ableton, all hardware. Pretty much learned my way around Ableton while doing it.

Don’t own a cassette deck or mini disk unit anymore …

Don’t own a cassette deck or mini disk unit anymore … Several others where recorded as 4 track stereo mixes to an old Sp808 back in the day.

Ok, I’ll play. This was back in 2006. I didn’t have a clue as to what I was doing but had (still have) a Yamaha pss-160 and some kind of small Tascam mixer loaned to me by a friend. I liked the distortion when overdriving the preamps on it. Thought I was going to break it but friend assured it was ok. Recorded with Ableton Live 5, I think, through a PC laptop headphone jack.

if you reworked that a little bit Tom Cosm would get jealous! … I like it!

Nice tracks. @nightshift, really like the mood of your song.

Got back into music because of the Analog Four. Recorded this late last year using A4/vocals in Fl Studio, my first recording in little over 10 yrs.

Recently got MnM and OT, still learning those.

i like the base drum beat, you almost managed to avoid 4 to the floor, still some interesting rhytmic quality to it … but … is it clipping at times=? … cool track

@TrabanT thanks, I recorded this with direct input to mic line on laptop. And did vocals singing into headphones (since they are basically a mic in reverse :joy: ) . I need to get a usb audio interface and mic.

Glad you liked, although I don’t get the Tom Cosm reference?

reminded me of Tom Cosm … i think the old school approach works well, just as tom cosm has it in a few of his tunes, so he would get jealous because it may sound like him … never mind

Oh ok, only stuff I’ve hear by him was like dubsteppy electro stuff.

Same here, but I recently got a cheap cassette deck, so maybe I can contribute to this thread soon. Got a MD player also, but I currently lack the time to backup my MDs properly while they slowly rot in their box. :zonked:

At least I got most of my MDs as audio cassettes, but for today’s standard this should give them a “warm” sound anyway. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:
