I’ll just add also all early Detroit guys, and Daft Punk
Milligan, Cleese, Everett… Sessions…

exceptional many, genius none… prodigy doesn’t equate to genius.
I’m not sure a real musical genius would reveal themselves, to do so might be painful, regretful, and detrimental to their health.
Fine, I’ll be a genius.
when i was a kid and in my band which basically lasted for about twenty years too long but anyway we would all constantly tell each other we were geniuses, not unique to anybody who has been in a serious band or been serious about the band they were in to the extent that it took over their lives which either proves or disproves the genius label in that small circle at least
« We are all geniuses in our own way » _Tchu
Lil Genius, I bet there’s a rapper called that.
Not a fan of the music per se, but Burial is probably the best example of genius in electronic music, certainly in the first few records he did.
Yeah? If you were to ask me to name three geniuses, I probably wouldn’t say Einstein, Newton… You know.

I think we could safely put Mort Garson in the general category. Maybe not in the same way Bach perhaps, but I’d put him up there in a general sense. Anyone that can create such a wide array of music on what equates to a large monosynth gets my vote.
On a more modern note, maybe Dwayne Goettel and Cevin Key?
I can think of quite a few others I’d put in a high tier of electronic music. Maybe Don Davis (Juno Reactor), Alessandro Cortini, Drew Neuman and a bunch of others one could list.
You’ve put in great words what I tried to allude to with my comment about the backwards cap
Wendy Carlos, Jean-Michel Jarre, Vangelis, Jan Hammer
Well, you know I love Mort Garson, as well as
But genius? Brilliant, yes, innovative, certainly, but genius? Andres Segovia was a genius. Franz Listz was a genius. As much as I admire my favorite artists, I don’t think any of them come close to being to electronic music what Segovia was to the guitar. Maybe, maybe Wendy Carlos’ “Timesteps” was a work of genius*. Maybe.
*It’s also my favorite piece of electronic music, so there might be some bias there.
Stockhausen, Raymond Scott, Wendy Carlos, kraftwerk to name a few
