Couldn’t really work with the last electribe series and I doubt that this one will be more useful for me…
But well thats just my opinion
I like that Korg really listens to their customers now and the new products look like an advancement (live integration), but what i can see coming is not enough knobs and millions of submenus on the electribes at least.

I read all 17 pages of the manual today.

Maybe Korg is trying to go green?!
anyway, it’s really not so desirable for me. I hope the sampler brings something decent. One thing I don’t get though; the only mention of MIDI is global settings. How would this work for sixteen parts? There is no midi chart and it seems like the unit is locked in to one channel. Probably great as an Ableton controller but not sure if it would work well for controlling the volca keys per say.

Maybe because Korg continually seems to design products for instant gratification, and then in the last minute thinks “shit, maybe this needs some sort of midi thing”.
Poor sync and/or missing basic features seems to be Korg’s MO regarding midi. When I was first getting started I had a lot of interest in their products, but the more I learn and consider integrating their gear into my studio, the less I desire because of their obvious negligence in this area. If the new EMX will just respond accurately to clock sync, and not be a headache to receive clock/transport while using its sequencer, I’m interested. I feel like hoping for more is asking too much.

I always get the impression that while MIDI might not be an “after thought” in terms of the unit and o/s it almost always is with first drafts of the manual. That’s a criticism of most manufacturers though.
Still, the MIDI channel point is a concern. iMS-20 is still locked to one midi channel I think - drives my bonkers at times!
Guess we’ll find out soon enough.

It got a good review in SOS. I never read it all, but it’s basically saying the units not cheap but worth it as a high quality piece. Hopefully the other stuff will have a similar quality build but doubtful as I think the delay unit costs more than the groovebox’s.

ah, it looked like he was having to dig his finger deep into the button to make it work at times, with a pretty pissed off look now and again as he pressed harder and harder, like it wasn’t working. .
not sure I am mad about the new spec machines but it is too early to tell, but the old ones have always interested me and slava certainly makes them look eminently performable.
the new look reminds me a little of my first sampler way way back

Since you brought up an iOS product from Korg, that perfectly illustrates my frustration with their approach to midi. In 2014, it is ridiculous to be so limited with a product developed within the last 5 years. I can accept not being able to automate every parameter by CC, but being unable to set a channel of my choice makes me wonder if they gave even a slight consideration to those who would use their products in a more professional way.

Sorry if this has been mentioned but wondering with the new electribe sampler is pattern/scene transfer to ableton two way? or only one way?. Like can you create patterns on ableton and transfer to electribe?; that would be awesome!

One way I believe, though the sampler will take wav loops and auto chop them so you can export loops from any source to the sampler.

I really just want to see a video of Super Hans making a beat with it from the ground up using both hands, instead of talking and cradling the thing while playing presets. It sounds pretty good so far, but I’m not really getting enough information to tell me what it’s like to work with or how detailed you can get with designing sounds.

Yep its the synth with the king korg engine, the sampler will come along about a month later apparently.

Likeing these alot im in the market for a sampler so if this works out to be 2nd best in the market i will take silver at that price lol

Yep it has midi out control on all 16 channels.

I could be wrong, but what I think sinsyn means is will it send to all sixteen channels simultaneously? Ie track one = midi channel one, 2=2, etc…
If not, what I don’t understand would be how you avoid a midi train wreck like you have a mono synth or a four voice synth and you want to control both internally and externally. Do you understand what I’m saying? Can’t explain so well
Could it be global midi per track or at least midi send on one track only?
