After one year without OT (the last one didn’t return from repair of loose knobs, then I made a deal with the dealer to get an A4 instead of my OT), I finally ordered a new one!!
I missed it a lot, was wondering if I should just order one almost every weekend, but I think it was worth the time to really appreciate loop sampling and what the OT can do with recorded loops! The MD Morphor template for iPad Lemur which I posted on Elektron-Users was a nice and flexible workaround, but a built-in crossfader is just much simpler and thus more usable…
yes, the OT should be a no-brainer at least if enough money is available in the “music budget” and that one turned out to take a while.
cutting stuff together on a computer is no fun at all when your’re used to what the OT can do with recorded audio and I also missed all those thoughts about what you could do with all the complexity available.
I remember our interesting (online) discussions. to be continued
the OT is a really advanced machine (as for any elektron’s gear), not a simple sampler you throw stuff at and you can have some fun (after having spent time in menus and such…). it’s a must have…can’t think of any other piece of hardware that does soooo much
