The px5 doesn’t have a looper isn’t it?
Some guys are discussing it on Reddit.
Looks like a phasing effect of you do not run them 100% wet…
Looking around on several forum appears to confirm the saying of Dave. Lots of issue of strong volume drops and bumps with the FX loop.
the fx loop on the 43 is always on. that knob is more like a wet dry mix from what i understand. my main question was about class compliancy…the other was about the possible phasing of that fx knob. wasnt too worried about it cause it would just be a 4 channel mixer for an ipad (and the effects sends are internal to the ipad so wouldnt need that fx loop per se, but if its crapola, then no bother…)
For a local small party to take it with me, i look for a more budget (and lightweight) option, beer in the near of a 96 would make me nervous. The 96 is great mixer nevertheless, and there is music equip insurance if you gig with it.
Did the xone 42 has the same issue as the 43? Or is it a functional FX send?
Personally I have no issue using the FX send the n the 43…I wasn’t aware the 42 had an issue… but I’m using it more in a way a DJ might in all cases whether for a delay unit or my SP—16 as a live looping source.
I dunno. I do read manuals and check out how things work before purchasing but if something is 90% what I need and the price is right so I just adapt to how it works.
I don’t think any piece of gear I’ve ever bought has been exactly what I wanted lol
I m like you InTheAM but if the FX send is not there, it is like the third of the job I m asking the mixer to do… The other third being eq./filters and the mixing per se.
After quite a bit of reading, I think I got the issue.
First thing is that there is nothing wrong per se with the 43 send, but the fact that you can’t control the return gain.
If your FX chain is not unitary it ll go either up or down as you go dry to wet. Here the big plus of the 92 is that you can set the return gain.
Second thing is the issue of phasing. When you remix the original dry with a return with the wet plus some of the dry (depending on the FX) the sight delay create a mess. So you must use FX that gives you 100% wet to work.
Here the 92, may help but I think at a cost of a major hassle. One thing would be the have the desired channel off on the main and just get the return.
The only thing is that if you want to switch FX on/off quickly that may prove very challenging…
But I m just guessing here.
Thanks to all.
Long story short, I have just pulled the trigger on a used 96 for 900eur…
Can’t wait to receive it
Good catch! Have fun, it’s awesome.
That’s a lovely price. Well done. Enjoy
Nice deal if mixer still in good condition. Enjoy
