Just to put coda on this story - I noticed that one of the keys on my refurbed A4MKII had apparently been replaced with a mechanical keyboard switch (like the ones on a good computer keyboard) that has a “clicky” mechanism. (For computer nerds like me, think Cherry MX Blue switch rather than Cherry MX Brown) Wow. Whomever refurbed this particular unit was apparently having a very, very bad day.
This put me past my comfort zone… so I contacted Sweetwater, and the FedExed me another Refurb (b-stock) unit with a pre-paid return label. This unit was perfect! Happy me.
p.s. Sweetwater still has B-Stock A4MKIIs for under 1k!
