Wow + Flutter

So do you actually have it in your hangar??

Tell us about the wow and flutter in your hangar and how that might solve the problem for the OP.

No :joy:

If you open the doors just right the airflow causes a repetitive pressure fluctuation which can affect the sound waves and cause a wow and flutter type sound.

The OP could drive in their car with only one window in the back down, the pressure fluctuations could be re-sampled through a microphone.

But honestly I’d probably just automate sample speed and pitch on the Octatrack to make it easier. Maybe resample as needed.

Do you have one ?

No unfortunately I don’t.

It was a joke about how huge the MV8000 is. It’s kind of a beast.

Ah. Do you have an airplane hangar ?
Who knows ? My place was a hangar so…:content: :

Haha nope :-1: Just a garage for cars and House + Guest house.

I do live next to small private airport though :joy:

Plenty of slow flying prop planes floating slowly over my yard as they begin to land.

Heard lots of good things about it.
Seems really old school though…

It’s really good for its age. Meant to be a Roland’s answer to the MPC at the time I think.

Roland was always good with FX in that era and it’s different and similar to the MPC. Some things better and some things worse.

I got it many years ago non-functional for free and fixed it. I used it for a while but ultimately didn’t gel with it. Just never got rid of it for some reason.

A good reason:

Yeah it’s the last of its kind with SPDIF, optical, RBus, phono, USB, multi audio and midi outs. You want one with the audio output expander. It is fully 19" wide so it is big like a MPC 4000 and weighs in as a heavy weight. The pads are lovely, the sliders are all assignable, it plays well with other boxes. You can write and record on it so it’s an all one unit. I think the sequencer is great.
