Would a USB "B-Male to B-Male" cable connected directly

Would a USB “B-Male to B-Male” cable connected directly from the USB midi-in port of a synth to the USB midi-out port of a keyboard work? Could the USB port of the synth power the keyboard if it had the capability of being USB-powered?

Would a cable like this work for what I’m imagining if what I’m imagining is possible?

It won’t work. With USB, one end goes to a ‘host’ the other goes to a ‘client’ and you need the host to manage the information flowing back and forth. Two clients can’t talk to each other.
A usb-midi keyboard is a client, your PC/MAC is a host. A synth is usually a client, recognised by your PC/MAC as a midi device with a driver to explain what the data coming from it means.

Thanks for the reply! I kind of figured that was the case.
