Elektron machines are so deep that using more than two at a time is, yes, overwhelming. I think that’s why I make nearly-complete tracks within each machine, then just sprinkle on some A4, Monomachine, or MD to taste.
I don’t have much else to add to this thread, but I think it’s an interesting one because it highlights the structural constraints of certain forms of electronic music.
Thankfully, Elektron’s sequencing engine allows for many styles of arrangement, from unbounded to metronomic.
