Workflow for Balanced Mixing on Digitakt

Hi everyone,

I’m looking for a simple workflow to achieve a balanced mix on the Digitakt. I’m used to working with an MPC, and I feel that some habits I’ve developed with it are affecting how I approach the Digitakt.

Is it possible to create reference patterns with pre-mixed kits and then copy a single sound from one pattern into another? If anyone has tips or tricks for maintaining consistent mixing or using pre-mixed kits effectively, I’d really appreciate it!

Thanks in advance!

Don’t know if this would jibe with your workflow, but I use the sample threshold screen as a level monitor by using L/R INT as the input and pushing the indicator up near the top (leaving some headroom) to use as a max level marker that I keep the same across all patterns. Whatever I want loudest in the mix (ok, the kick) goes up to the mark and then everything else gets mixed against that. Like I said, it might be a PITA but gives consistent results that translate well between headphones and monitors.

Yes, they are called kits. Kits let you recall a specific set of trigs and the level is recalled. Kits are pattern specific too but you can play a pattern and flip through saved kits.

You can copy/paste trigs as you like once the sequencer is populated.
