Workaround for unforseen pattern scale

Seems like there’s no fix for this but has anyone got a workaround for situations where for example you jam and come up with a 64 Step bass line and then need to add a 128 step chord seq on a separate track?

With no individual track patten scale division/multipliers option it’s a problem I’m hitting pretty often… Maybe I’m being stupid and missing an obvious fix within the available options but right now it’s a massive workflow killer that I hit at least once every few days and it hurts my head to try and figure it out… I suck at anything maths related… I guess chains are an option but that’s far from ideal. Any other fix?

Unless your bassline and planned chord sequence do not need such fine resolution and you can halve the tempo to double the length, you will have to chain two patterns.

Thanks for confirming it wasn’t just my poor maths finding no other way round it. In some cases I theoretically could have switched to new pattern and halved tempo but for long passages already sequenced that’s not very convenient to re-enter everything in the pattern. And hassle/almost Impossible to fully replicate if there is automation/p-locks etc as well as notes. Bummer AK doesn’t have separate track multipliers/divisions like OT. Can’t really see an obvious reason for it not to besides the often mentioned conspiracy theories of elektron holding features back from each unit so as not to tread on the toes of the other. But this is something they really should add…

My solution was to buy a Roland RC-505. Can record chord sequences of any length and from instruments with more than 4 notes polyphony. Sorted.

Sweet, I’d love a 505. I could sequence from my OT to avoid problems, I never play more than 4 note chords, but I like to bring my AK downstairs or chill on bed with it sometimes so becoming reliant on an external sequencer only for occasional pattern length/tempo issues would be annoying… I’d say fair enough normally, the sequencer is deep as it is for a synth, but knowing OT can do it I just feel like Elektron could squeeze the function in there…
