I seriously need help to make this work. Analog four/keys has arpeggiation for each track but no way to time them to a midi clock, and it’s near impossible for me to time them right. I’m taking care of so many things at the same time, any mistakes on my part train wrecks the entire song.
In all my other synths, this was a basic feature. arpeggiator quantize, and it’s not a difficult thing to add, so i’m completely at a loss why this isn’t available. especially for such a high end synth. My live set is suffering in a big way.
I’m hoping someone can help me.
are there any work-arounds, tricks , to quantize live midi notes ? or any other way.
Thanks in advance.

Are you saying the arps are key-synced? Must say I haven’t noticed as I usually use them triggered so they’re always on time. This key-sync behaviour used to annoy me on the Access Virus, dunno if they ever changed it.
An arpeggiator really should offer traditional playback where notes generated are always delivered on time, the note values plucked from those held down. The act of holding notes should not generate gates.

exactly smokyfrog, currently all arps are key sync’ed. When you are tweaking knobs or playing with the joystick and have 4 parallel arpeggiators going at the same time, it’s nearly impossible to always get the timing right. that’s when quantization or midi clock sync is key. It just snaps the arp starting point to the next midi clock step always perfect.
can you explain what you meant by " I usually use them triggered so they’re always on time." ? you mean they are already part of a sequence/pattern/song?

Yeah, I don’t trigger them manually (I have the A4 module) because I’ve always kinda seen arpeggiation as a function of the controller (a Roland V-Synth in my case). I mainly use the arpeggiator to make up for the fact each track must run at the same speed and I add it manually as parameter locks to try and simulate the ‘Chris Franke sequencer trill/ratchett’. Actually, I always waste a few patterns doing this because you can’t parameter-lock all arp values, for example the arp status. Then I’m back to the memory game trying to remember which patterns in a bank have the arp active, since you can’t name patterns…
Sounds like an update request needed. If you only had one option I don’t think it’d be key-synced - for exactly the reasons you mention.
I’m a little late to the party here, but all you should have to do is turn on global quantisation and the arp will start quantised when played from a keyboard.
^ is that not just when it has been sequenced. The arp timing can be tempo synced but it won’t correct if you trigger a live note early or late, haven’t tried that suggestion but i’d be surprised if it corrected live input
You’re right. I just tested it with global quantize on and you hear them where you play them. Of course, if you’re recording the trigs in real-time mode they’re only off for the first hit…
