Wooden sides

Out of curiosity, are there wooden sides out there for the AK?
Thanks!

I just finished making some fotos from my retrofitted Analog Keys with woods sides. I also placed a scantling under the keyboard. The wood came from an old child closet produced by IKEA … no joking.

Very nice job, moonbooter!

I have been thinking about making some sides or a stand for my AR.

What was the name of the ikea closet thing you used ? I love ikea hacks and repurposing heheh cheaper than buying raw wood from the lumber yard or hardware store.

Looks sharp!

How are the wooden sides afixed?

Nice work, like it, and I presume it gets round one of the two glaring design issues of the AK?

Being the tiny screen / not angular.

Was thinking the exact same thing, presume braces underneath?

The trick is not to drill any holes to the instruments: So I experimented with silicon, normally used in Your bathroom, some years ago. This is a perfect glue. Coat the surface with a thin layer of silicon, the press the wooden parts on the right place of the synth and let it dry over night.

If You ever like to remove the wodden parts it´s no problem. Simply pull them gently apart and carefully cut the silicon, layer by layer, between instrument and wood with a sharp knive. The rest of silicon can simply be rubed off.

The part under the keyboard is fixed on an aluminium plate, which is also sticked with silicon under the synthesizer. You can see this plate on the fotos.

The wood comes from an IKEA “LO”-closet.

love it! good work!

Very nice Moonbooter!

Wow, nicely done. Do you have measurments of the parts you used? That would be awesome! Thanks in advance!
