I use C6 with W7/64, and have had no problems with AK or OT. Also used it to update the OS on my Blofeld.
same… I also used it to send sysex to my BSII :\ no problems.
ive never had any problems whatsoever either. win7 64 with A4/OT/RYTM/MD
thank you very much guys … i am 2nd usb cable, on a 2nd port … sometimes it is just fucking not working … i am at the end of my patience! … good to hear that even win7 64 bit is wokring for others! …
maybe I have to go virtual box for a try, but midiox also didnt work … any suggestions?
try another usb cable
sounds crazy but i had problems with my x0xbox firmware updating and went through 3 different cables to finally find one that worked
Defo agree about the cables, whoever is in charge of global USB cable standards needs his bollocks cutting off!
Have you tried downloading it again and reinstalling?
Can you try with good old fashioned MIDI instead of USB?
complex: strabwerry: Zymos :
tried 3 usb cable, tried my girlfriends PC with windows8 on it, tried TM1 with MIDI …
froze C6 on my girls PC when the A4 was connected … didnt receive any sys Patches, claimed to have reveived when sending to poolo instead of bank, but pool remaind empty, no “name” was shown in pool display when sending / receiving …
tried usb + midi, and only usb, and only midi… could send/ reveive … just opened a ticket with Elektron, I must say, trying on a different PC and the same thing happening, I think it is the OS in the A4 ! … had trouble since day 1 with c6 and sending data …
(also unplugged focusrite usb midi interface, and midi keyboard, disabled automap, just to make sure nothing is interferin… but the same result on a differnt PC… would consider resetting the A4, but wait for HQ )
EDIT: installed fresh C6 from homepage on 2 different PCs, no luck …
thanks for all suggestions!
I use WIN 7 on both a laptop and my desktop DAW custom build only for recording computer and what will screw-up ANY sysx is if I have my anti virus program active. I have to turn it off and make sure the RJ45 is not even connected as to not infect any computer while Norton 360 Security is turned off…and as long as anti virus is off, C6 will work most of the time, but I indeed find it a bit of an arcane program.
Could it be an active anti virus program, even Windows Defender, that may be causing your impasse? Just thought to share my experience as well as when doing data transfers, I never have anything else plugged into any other USB ports and actually prefer good old fashioned midi cables and my Focusrite Scarlett 18i20 as the nexus for the process because it’s actually connected to PC via USB.
May also have a lot to do with how your in/out midi ports in software/DAW are configured.
I say that because you have tried your girlfriend’s computer with same results, so I sure know I have caused enough midi loops to know I can never rule out user error.
With all that said, I do not like C6 and was a bit depressed when I got the Moog Sub 37 back in July 2014 and the first update instructions advised using C6. Moog are working on an auto updating program to make things easier and kind of wish Elektron would make this a less trepidatious process. (a good number of people on Moog Forum have plenty of problems with C6–enough for Moog to find another solution/option for customers) Every time, am afraid am going to brick my A4 or MNM Mk1.
