Will it be a Quiet Year on this forum with no significant new releases?

New equipment much to talk about. But will this year be quiet as apart from the M:S. I hope not but now OB has been released theres not going to be much to chew on apart from talk of bugs and redirects to old posts.

Hopefully the focus will be on supporting and developing their existing products. That’s more valuable to me anyway.

Nope this is a working school of elektron and gear . There will always be open lab experiments that make you change how you work.

OB is Not fully released. And theres no real need for every year new gear to fire everyones GAS.

Full release of OB will be better than new hardware to me. So im fine with this Namm being chill.

Be prepared for tons of threads (regarding the M:S) like these:

  1. How can I sample?
  2. How can I send CCs from a track?
  3. How to get the individual track sounds into my DAW?
  4. How to fine-tune sample start with only 120 values?
  5. Where to put the batteries?
  6. … and so on …

If I was selfish I’d say I hope so because I’ve no spare money, just bought another digitakt and happy with the release of a rock solid overbridge. Help me concentrate on actually making music rather than lusting over no gear and learning new equipment

I still love seeing new gear of exciting though so I’m probably just lying to myself :slight_smile:

We might get some OS updates to existing gear along with OB2. I do not personally mind, I’m waiting for the MPC upgrades in the meantime…

DN and DT are the youngest black boxes so I am hopping they will get some new features along the way… They could use accents and swing trigs at least :diddly: And some sort of workaround to the lack of a songmode was promised, right? And yeah, we need general master tune on the DN!

As for GAS, passionate nauts hungry for new elektron stuff should turn to the past and embrace the old classics (MD / MNM / SIDstation). The joy of dicovery and newness has many forms :nyan: Like, if you’re a rytm head, maybe get into MD and add a Minicommand to the mix? Lots of old scrolls to decipher…

The feature request thread for that one could be epic as well, particularly considering how long it is for the DT.
