elektron ui is way better than virus，ui of them are even not on same design direction
the best design conception all use function per knob or knob per function（early nord，davesmith synth），elektron use few knob to control large number parameter，this is matrix conception，virus use knob and menu editing，some function you could edit use knob and menu same time，that is most hateful
Each his own. I prefer knobs to encoders.

I sold a Virus TI Desktop. Sounds good adding voices, fx of course but I didn’t have pleasure to use it. Not fan of filters, weight, size, ergonomics…
I would have chosen a TI Snow instead, if I didn’t prefer Micromonsta in all above aspects. Editing is so easy, logical…
Micromonsta 2 is bitimbral, has 12 voices, fm capable, wavetables…
2 x MM2 = Octatrack width. Perfect for me ! Small, light, 4 parts, 24 voices.

Again, each one to his own. I disliked the NL3 UI because I work in near-darkness and all those LEDs were quite meaningless in that context, especially those used for selecting modulation destinations. For me knobs simply feel better, respond more precisely and last longer, especially if the controlling software doesn’t cater for the encoder aging process.
with knob，any synth with perset must trade off between jump，relative，pass 3 mode，no one is perfect，no offense，what i m talking is ui design conception，no thing to do with Personal preference 
My preference is for synths without presets. If they must have presets, I like to use manual mode. If I can’t do that I go for relative mode if there is one. You may believe the NL3 is the perfect UI and that such considerations have nothing to do with personal preference. I disagree. The perfect UI is exactly about personal preference. (Have you read the book Push Turn Move? It’s all about this kinda thing)
Anyway, as I said, I don’t much like encoders so even with LED collars they aren’t how I want to control my synths. YMMV.
