Wiggly knobs on machinedrum

I bought a used machinedrum and the knobs are a little wobbly. Over time I could see it becoming more of an issue.

Any tips on fixing/making them more secure and solid? Are there shops that service synth hardware?

I love this machine. Such a cool piece of gear. I wonder if they’ll ever make a new model.

Order a replacement set of encoders from Elektron, then either replace them yourself or get someone to do it for you, once they start skipping values when you turn them.

Thank you! Didn’t know they sold encoders separately.

Aaaand,If you got them…here is some help how to change it yourself
(Video made by @MDMnM ,so thank him )

So you’re the one who got that machinedrum from the Japanese shop ?

Haha nope! I wonder who snagged that one…mine was from reverb.

guess it depends ‘how wiggly’ I got one of the very last ones & the encoders are ‘looser’ than a MKII from 2009

if you’re not afraid of opening the machine up sometimes the tabs that hold the encoders onto the board can come loose. i’ve have some luck with using a pair of plier to squeeze the tabs together.
