So here is the deal from what I can tell. The Synth engines(toms at least) shorten and elongate the notes when transposed similar to how a sample acts when chromatically pitched. I find this annoying for making melodic sounds with the synth engines, but the point is they are NOT synth engines the are DRUM SYNTH engines and I think they act this way on purpose.
Yes you are right it is more like a filter tipping into self oscillation.
I too was a freaked out that the analogue sounds acted like samples and their length changed in relation to pitch.
I thought maybe they have done that to compliment the sample elements of a sound, but soon realised you can turn chromatic on and off for each element of the pad.
So it doesn’t make sense to me at all, love a tech from Elektron to explain a little , I’d mail them but seems they are over stretched atm , I’ll just wait, hopefully things will care down once Overbridge has settled ?
Confirmed here, with sample and synth volume turned down on BT track only.
And I’m very concerned by this sound length problem.
I don’t understand why they made the sound shorten when the pitch is raised…
This is so limitating and frustrating !!!
Why in the hell would they do something like that…
And the pitch range of the LT MT and HT should be different.
HT is just a LT pitched higher, so you cannot go further high in pitch with its tune control…
