Or if you want to be really awkward why not have your own standard/type all together (Chase Bliss).
I’d be angry if I didn’t love their pedals so much…

Off the top of my head, Blackbox, microfreak, Swarm, Circuit/monostation, Launchpad Pro. I had a faderfox that was type B, but that was used and is probably customizable?
Definitely in the minority, but just prevalent enough to be annoying.
I thought you meant me, and I was like… that would be the ultimate way to go. Create my own standard.
True MIDI has 5 pins. You could be on the ground floor of TRRRS!
You akward, never
My actual hate is reserved for bullshit proprietary non-TRS mini-MIDI crap like the ones on Yamaha Reface.
About TRS I only have the kind of loving acceptance of obvious flaws that comes with serious long-term relationships. Yes, the competing standards are annoying, but I do love having svelte little devices like the M8 and Blackbox.
25 years from now, 3.5mm stereo cables and TRS-DIN adapters will be dead easy to find, but that damned Reface adapter will be the rarest unobtainium.
Hmm, has nothing to do, with how good the device is, more if it has the correct pins on the controller left. Midi in uses octocoplers to split voltage from signal, because the MIDI spec allows a broad range of voltage that would cause issues otherwise. Maybe I am missing something, but as far as I know, you need to double the MIDI electronics to be able to switch around, that includes the pin on thencpu that needs to be able to read serial data. Lots of devices might just not be able to do that.
Ah dang, I totally forgot about that insanity.
No, it’s even crazier. BOSS pedals use type A. But they chose to call their own 5 pin to trs cables, which are in fact type A, “boss bmidi”. Can’t make that shit up.
This post feels more like your trying to generate viewers for your YouTube channel. Even the title seems like cheap click bait.
WHAT ABOUT DRINKING?!!?
If a device can send and receive Midi A and B it is indeed Better than a device can only use A or B.
This is apparently another premium feature of the Model’s line.
Goddamnit. I’ve been rumbled as the sneaky cheap scumbag that I am.
I respect this comment, but drinking is not a feeling. I guess the closest feeling would be love though, so perhaps I am capable of love. Love of drinking.
Hmm, maybe I just rate music devices more by its featureset for music making and not by its polarity or a port. Sure, having it is better than not having it, but I won’t choose a device because of this single thing over another. and to be fair, I sent back/sold both Model:Devices after a time, because the polarity didn’t fix the issues I had with it.
rock and roll, baby
Pro tip!
I like trs midi because I don’t have any devices with full DIN. The closest is my Reface CS, and, well…
Well, one fifth of my synths are dickheads.
The ones that use type B
