AR Mk2 is better if you want more complicated machine, song mode, analog synthesis machines, analog filter/compression/distortion, lots of performance controls and scenes, pads, kits, etc
DT is better if you want a simpler machine, loop points within a sample, finer control over start/end points, and 8 tracks of proper midi each with up to four notes per step
