Every generation is worse than the previous one that raised them.
The first couple of homo sapiens were probably fine, but it went pretty much straight downhill from there.

It turns my guts to wonder if those people (all ages) would actually go watch a shoegaze band perform. Would they even enjoy the experience, or be too busy writing their opinions on FB or tinder.
Your comment reminds me of a spell from Arthur C Clarke in 1950 something. “Shit became so accessible that professionalism died. Now it’s a hobby, everyone’s an amateur.”
facebook and tinder are for millennials. Honestly, gen z are spearheading the disconnecting from phones movement. They’re the ones buying tape players and ipods. I think they’re getting fed up with living online. The youth I know all play in death metal bands. There’s still punk rock in the youth, it’s just not on the radar. Last show I went to was under an overpass in the middle of the city and there were six thrash/death metal bands, all under 30. There were a couple thousands folks there and I was prolly the oldest one by far. It made my heart happy.
My ignorance. I’m still not totally aware of what gen apply to what aeon. Apparently I’m X. Or Goth ![]()
Millennials are 45 and under, gen Z pretty much just turned 30, alpha is in school. Haha! Goths wear black (unless they’re into the pastel goth scene) Haha! Gen z was raised on social media and smart phone. Alphas were raised on ipads.

Oh man, I’ve wanted a Jazzmaster for years. Sounds like I should start scouting the pawn shops for a deal
On topic, there’s not a great ladder of venues for bands to play. There’s big stages and 3 hour restaurant gigs for soft acoustic covers of pop hits, but not a lot of small clubs to cut your teeth in.
The small Irish pub down the road from me won’t book you unless you have an accordion and mandolin and play a three hour set of Irish folk tunes. That’s a fate worse than death
excuse me somebody say Jazzmaster? ![]()
Jazzmaster is my favorite guitar everrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
It’s a tie between a jazz and a jag for me.
no shortage of bands in this area
