These look nice. I kinda prefer mic stands, since they look more elegant. But would the rubber stands with a plate absorb more sound or are they more or less the same as mic stands with rubber?
I havenāt done a comparative test but weight+slack seems like a good absorber combo to me.

Until very recently, HEDD type 07 mk2 (sadly moving into a space where I wonāt be able to use them and had to sell). Absolutely the best monitors in their price range though, so rich and detailed but incredibly comfortable to work on. The Mk2s include a low frequency extension control to bring their range right down to 30hz and you really can work on bass heavy material without a subwoofer. The lineariser stuff really makes an audible difference as well.

If it can reassure you, my English must not be better.
Itās mine that have a weight that will dampen the vibrations.
I am not a specialist in wave transmission, maybe someone here can invalidate or validate this idea.

Were they the first Monitors you bought?
not the first, donāt know why itās not like they are the monitors Iāve enjoyed the most but they are the monitors that iāve used in the most different amounts of environments, like outside in many places (not 4 performance, just recording), hotel rooms, friends places etcā¦ maybe thatās itā¦ still use them everyday

Finally I took the cheaper way with the Eris Sub8, + the passive knob monitoring controller in order to handle the switch between bluetooth source and hardware source, macro volume on both Eris and Sub (to keep ācalibrationā), and bypass the sub when necessary.
And thatās good enough 
LOL there is a lot under 75Hzā¦ but thatās good to be able to bypass the sub to understand how the sound will be on average-standard speakers

Reviving this thread because I think itās the best place for general discussionā¦
Anyone here having experience or using Abacus C-Box 3 or 4 speakers for monitoring? At least from technical perspective these seem to be very linear and, if you follow Mike Senior, a pretty good choice for smaller studios. Also interested in learning about other portless alternatives or opinions on whether or not youād recommend these. Thanks! 
Edit: I need to finally buy some speakers. Budget/pair at max 1000ā¬ but Iād rather prefer paying less.
Yamaha HS80s, they sound fantastic, very flat. I mix between them and my headphones a pair
of Neumann NDH20s, I am in love with them they sound incredible, Iāve listened to albums that Iāve heard 1000 times on them and noticed new details also theyāre very comfortable to wear for long periods of time, I actually use them for general listening to music and for gaming when I play at night.

Yes I love these, someone on this forum mentioned them when I was looking for headphones and Iām very glad they did. Excellent for both producing and listening.

I recently replaced both JBL 305P Mk2ās and IK iLouds with these Adam A5Xās. Sound great to me. Thinking about adding one of Adamās subs, anyone have experience with them?

This one is big and heavy and so it sounds!
You can really hear and feel the single bass notes and you will learn about your room! When Iām sitting on my desk, I have lot of less bass then standing on the same spot.
I run my sub10 maybe at arund 9 oclock on the volume, thats around -10 to -20 db compared to my a7x top satelites. You can hipass the satelite speakers on the sub, so they can work better on louder levels.
No need to go to a club anymore to feel some bass

Iāve got Adam T7Vs in the studio, with a 12" sub (used sparingly) mainly because I like the ribbon tweaters, and theyāre pretty flat.
However, I bought a pair of JBL 306P MkII for the turntable setup in the living room, and while they have a little bit more color, Iāve been REALLY impressed by how they sound. No need for a sub at all with them, and thatās just for listening. 
If one can live with just a touch more color to the sound (which can be tailored out for the most part) a pair of these 306P MkII (or 305P MkII) are absolutely incredible for the price. I got the pair of 6.5" ones for $238.
They arenāt HR824s, they arenāt A7Xes, but still incredibly impressive.

IMO there is no such thing as too much sub for any pair of monitors or listening speakers. Provided you get the balance right between them (or at least reasonable for your living arrangement).
In fact, limited use of a larger sub IMO is much better than more liberal use of a smaller one.

Yeah I was thinking Sub7 would do it.
JBL mainly but have some Focals arriving soon from last year pre order.
