Which is the better master clock and why? OT master -> A4 slave, or vice versa?

I tend to use my OT as the master simply because it is the hub of the other elektrons and multiple other external pieces. One good reason for this is that if I want to have individual track multipliers on the a4 for instance, I can sequence from the midi side accordingly.

I’m not sure which one has the “tighter” clock, but using the OT has just always seemed logical to me.

in my limited experience it seems to be the OT having the steadier clock. however - in combination with a DAW I have gotten better sync via A4 usb midi (as master)

…so the OT might be the better master clock since the
“Maximum variation between any two consecutive Sixteenth Note intervals” seems to have been tested quite lower in samples/ms than with the A4 ?

i can’t imagine there’s much to sweat over, but it may come down to user pref, from my viewpoint, the A4 will scarcely be thrown by tempo wobbles (worst is a bit of delay mangling i suppose, though never heard it myself) but with the OT you have the prospect that, amongst other things, that the pickup machine dub will be cancelled - on the flipside, it’s more important to me to be able to undo a clear on the A4 than on the OT, and undo clear is not possible(or robust) on the A4 when it is synced - then there’s handling all that midi chucked from the OT, six and half-a-dozen, i suspect a separate clock is best for flexibility and so on
