What's your other hobby/obsession?

I paint

Yoga, working out, bowling, smoking pipes, fly fishing, and beer. Graphic Designer as profession.

Non-music related: Poker. I used to be pretty good at it, but I just took a year long break. I returned to the tables in December, with decent results.

I plan on winning a bit of extra gear money. Not obscene amounts like a pro, just a bit of extra.

Other hobbies: Malt whisky, pipes and cigars, fine clothes.

Wow really cool photos. Must also be smelly from time to time

Five, four and one year old sons. Fortunately I love my parental hobby as there is no time for anything else.

Well… Karate - Shotokan-Style … (and some other sports  )

I play guitar, and sing in a classical chamber choir Calton Consort (best choir I’ve ever sung in!)

My wife is a pro singer and she plays the ukulele. We do our own arrangements of standards and entertain friends to great acclaim:) As a web developer I do her digital marketing including the new Voice and Harp project. Check out her and Bill Taylor performing Robert Burns. Beautiful stuff!

Sources of western alchemy, if possible read/studied in their original language (mostly Latin, but also French English italian. I am making my first steps in German and Arabic…).

Recently the discovery of modulars has drawn me deeply into electronics DIY so now I am scratching my head on Ohm’s law and its implications - sometime I find alchemy to be less obscure…

The game of Golf
Modular synths

Video games. Playing them, reading about them, watching grown men play them and occasionally doing something small myself… just never really got that one great idea to start proper development.

Lots of interesting stuff. Loving those underground photos.

I myself tend to switch hobbies (not including music, music being about the only consistent interest).

Sometimes I paint silly pictures

Sometimes I take photos

sometimes I cycle (though these days I don’t have the time)

Heading north and going off the grid

EDIT: Had a bit more time to look back and forward through this thread … simply awesome. I knew there were some talented and cool people on this forum, and now I’ve got even more details to prove it

Doing stuff like this - which is my all-consuming obsession…

Mr. Mom - I’ve got four kids! from Middle School basketball tournaments to soccer practices to baby diaper changing. I’m quite the laundrist as well.

The beats and jams only come out at night…late late at night. :frowning:

Cool thread!

My hobby has kept me off music for the last year!! Ugh!!
I’ve been reading along here in the background. all the while though.

Wow - you got a new fan my friend! Just had a quick look and your work is awesome - love Hydra. Very cool.

Lots of artistic folks here! My hobbies are a little more on the sporty side of things: first and foremost I play a lot of hockey (and drive my son to his games/tournaments). I run a lot to keep in shape. I ski (actually doing that right now in -30 C weather). It’s not all winter sports though, I also love scuba diving and try to go somewhere southerly at least once a year. I guess my biggest love is travelling (especially to places like central/south america and south east asia - backpacker country). I also love photography but have sort of dropped it since I started music making 5 years ago - can only work on one artistic hobby at a time I guess…
