hey i 've done the stmix kit before, maybe you should consider soldering the power connector last because there’s a really tigh area to solder in between the power connector and a 4 pin componant just a few milimeter from the molex.
i burned a lot of the molex and did a big drop of soldering on the componant. i managed to desolder properly and save the build but if it can help !!!
i like it very much

The only proper way to slam:

Got to say despite the MKII screen / battery and USB-C improvements etc. The MKI looks the best!!

Enjoy

Thanks for the tip! I’ll keep an eye out for that. Haven’t started the kits yet. Lots going on.

Like @dr_laemmerbein I’ve been focusing more on the camera than music. Mostly because this is my first time using a camera with so many options. Lots of editing experience but no behind the camera experience, but this is fun.

85mm came with the camera, which was already discounted.
20-60mm picked up used & cheap
100mm this one I had to get. I’ve always wanted a macro lens, and this is great. I still would love x2 magnification, but I plan on getting used to stacking in post (for pictures).

Fun little disposable lens from Etsy.

I would love to add the 50mm & 35mm primes as used prices have dropped in the last few weeks, but these are uncertain times, so this is the kit for the foreseeable future.

Chaps got a proper party going…

it has midi and can host VSTi’s now. and probably a couple other changes.

Lol, it was a pretty capable program 20 years ago. I know because I bought it at version 5 in 2005, specifically because they introduced latency compensation for the previously implemented VST functionality.

Have a smaller side table setup with drum machines and table synths going in to one of these. Prolly gift the Tapco to my brother or a friend, N.E.I. mixer is mono, but has a really good (shorter) onboard reverb.

I am a sucker for old Roland/Boss hence this whole picture, but KM-3 mixer will just be around for utility stuff and battery powered setups. VT-1 for vocals (duh). Boss RX-100 good reverb, usable overloaded input, and matches the DR-55, which I’ve been syncing with KO-II for a small portable setup I’ll bring to work.

Guitar is my main instrument and always loved pedals. Swapped my Chase Bliss Mystery Box Wombtone for the Generation Loss MK. 2, it’s okay, need to spend some more time to decide if I’ll keep. Maxon is a sleeper 70’s Big Muff copy that gets really insane maxed out. Lehle is another utility pedal, most likely used for recording 2 amps, really good to have the separate volumes on the channels.

Not sexy at all but purchased a Reaper license for work so that i can finally get rid of Pro Tools. The difference in workflow is incredible, i cant get over what a well thought out DAW this is. Being able to customize the shit out of it so that it fits exactly how i need to work is amazing. Also fantastic is being able to pay once for a perpetual license (and at a ridiculously reasonable price that could/shoud easily be double or even triple what it is), as opposed to being shackled to a subscription service of £300 per year for a heavy, clunky, often unreliable product that has to be tethered to a god damn dongle. I wish id done this years ago.

To be fair, you can buy perpetual licenses for PT again. Not that I’d personally recommend anyone to do that to themselves if they don’t absolutely need to, but it’s possible.

So they do - theyve kept that pretty quiet whenever its been time for me to re-subscribe! But looking at the cost for the version i use/was using, Ā£545 isnt exactly appealling. And what happens after youve used your years’ worth of updates etc? Glad to be rid of it tbh

Not at all surprised about that! Avid being on the side of their users has happened only once or twice in the history of mankind.

You get to keep using the exact version you had when your yearly upgrade plan ran out, but also lose the ability to use the Avid Complete Plug-in Bundle, Heat, Groove Cell, Synth Cell and Inner Circle stuff which is quite simply ass.
As far as I know you can buy more updates in the form of a perpetual license upgrade plan for a set amount of money, and you don’t need to keep that running if you don’t feel the need to.

Speaking of Pro Tools, I’ve added this one pro tool to my home setup as well yesterday, since I’ve suddenly realised that I’m becoming less-young and my wrist doesn’t like mice that much anymore.

Straight up ballin’ in here.

Hoping that this will do and I don’t have to start considering getting a rollermouse or a mousetrapper…

This fits in much better than the Minifreak.
$406 on Reverb and came with a Decksaver.

I’ve got a CME H4MIDI WC coming to replace an old Sipario X with blutooth midi.
I think the Minifreak might go away soon.
