I’m with the OT. If I’m not in the mood to make music it usually gets me in the mood. I just love the scope and versatility of it.

I’m interested to hear from other users to know which features of the other machines set that one apart for you.

OT for me too.

With all it’s frustrations it still remains a very capable exploratory machine that defies categorising into any genre.

I always dream that one day it will get cross-track modulation. It would be the machine to end all machines at that point. If Sonic Potions LXR can do it then come on Elektron, pull your finger out!

A4 for me because it helps me finish songs. Love the way it sounds, and it glues together all my outboard gear with it’s FX. Love sequencing/playing it with my op-1 and synthesizing the sounds together.

fast becoming the analog keys but still in my heart still the monomachine!!
mm surprises me every time and is just so strange and lush, very simple and just fits inside my mind
kinda like a modular and with so many types of synthesis

i got MnM MD and A4 and the best is MDUW in my opinion you got sampling and a very capable synth and 16 tracks and i think its the easiest to lern and the most fun after that MnM rocks too!!

mine is the MM … both because it was my first Elektron gear i got to put my hands on and for its vast array of features…well, it was actually an SFX6 so it also had keyboard and joystick; how i regret having sold it …

edit: …got the weird feeling of being watched by the other synths, better watch out though

^yeah pretty much. or it’s whatever i’m using at the time.

i guess overall octatrack, for the reasons other people have too and a big one for me is how it lets you work with feedback and so called physical modeling synthesis techniques, without the assumption of a lot of physical modeling synths that you want it to sound like a real instrument and respond in the same way, because to get the most out that you basically have to learn how to play the instrument being modeled. i like that it feels like interacting with the sound on it’s own terms.

but… i really like the the machinedrum, especially the UW part too. i feel like the ui is more polished or something.

it’s weird tho, i use the octatrack most because you can change what you use it for to fit the situation really well i think, but sometimes i have to take breaks because it glitches or freaks out and i get annoyed. or i accidentally reload a part and lose work… imo that’s a ui bug. i never step away from the machinedrum or the others and feel annoyed.

i’ve made full tracks with the a4 and monomachine too, but the a4 especially i find myself using it more complementary to other gear and the monomachine i get the most enjoyment out of it used with a “traditional” sampler i.e. something other than the octatrack.

getting bored with the sounds of the A4

cant get my head around MM

think I may not be the sample type of guy, but like creating accidents with OT

feel limited with AR because I am soooo very used to the MD

MD = love the fuckery, mangling shit, accidents, up to 14 + sounds AND THE CTLR option …

put the MD aside to get to know the AR … miss the MD … keep looking for fn+ knob + ctl tarekith on the AR … I am aware there is a performance mode on the AR …

I hope the AR will click with me like the MD clicked with me, but I shouldnt judge after less than half a month …

note to myself: dont buy 5 Elektron toys in 5 month

note to myself 2 : spending all your money on elektron toys was the best decision this year!
