Remember really liking the sound of this one when it came out…still a great sounding snare.

Right now? A couple.

My 606 patch on my TR-8S.
606 snare with tiny bit of tight reverb, into compressor.

My Sleishman 14x5.5 maple snare drum.

the snare should be crisp and the cymbals should ring

Maybe not my favorite but this is the most iconic snare sound that I can think of to this day.

Also, lots of inspiration for the OP-XY promos seems to have come from this video.

The drum machine used on this song is the Linn 9000

Can’t think of one favourite, but here’s loads of good ones.

Iambic 9 seems the most obvious example of the perfectly recorded snare drum to me.

I’ve never heard a bad snare in a Russell Haswell track, this is my favourite.

I could share pretty much any Joy Division song here, because Martin Hanett was a genius at recording drums, bit this is probably my favourite.

Obligatory Drexiya.

I think Shadow gets in purely because of how.fuckong long it took him to find the right breaks. Meticulous.

And AFX…

It’s (the OP-XY stuff) an homage to this DAF song, which coincidentally has a pretty nice snare.
