Make sure no Compact Flash card is inserted. Switch on the Octatrack while
keeping the [YES] button () pressed. The screen will state that demo
mode is being entered.

Hi everyone,

I’m Dan a first time user of Elektron products. I’ve heard the learning curve for the Octatrack MK2 is steep but I never imagined it woiuld be this hard.

I’ve just opened the box, plugged the unit into a power source. NOT inserted the card as I wanted to use the demo mode.

The instructions say without using the card you hold down the YES key and turn the unit on to initiate the demo mode.

When I do that, the unit lights all flash at once continiously and no screen boots up.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Weird. Brand new OT?

You can run Test mode by holding Func at startup.
Press trig 1.

Everything OK?

Try a demo project with the CF card in, if the any.

I’ve tried that. The unit and LCD has no function whatsoever other than the pretty disco lights.

I’ve even inserted the card and it behaves exactly the same. The screen doesn’t turn on and the card isn’t being read.

Hi Jox,

Yes, its the only one that came in the sealed box. I’ve tried plugging into different sockets, and have disconnected and reconnected both parts.

Fill in the screen with a black Sharpie and our untis are almost identical. Mine being the more ugly retarded twin.
