Not trying to stir up anything, but I am a bit out of the loop on the controversy here. TLDR?
I’m on Diskord. The mod there mentioned that the software was 50 units for owners of Orchid. I asked how I might get it being an owner but my post was ignored. Same as the post by a user who accidentally bought it twice.
Customer Support should be its first priority.
I’d like to see a 37 key version too as 12 keys feels limited for me.

Wait, what?! 
There’s no way to make your own presets without an additional purchase? And you can’t share presets between units?
Some C-level asshole is rubbing his hands in glee over this monetization scheme…
I can modify the internal sounds slightly, adjust fx and some very basic stuff and re-save them, but to get to the synth engines to do any typical synth stuff, I would need the plugin.
That said, I rarely use the internal sounds unless I pick it up to play for a few minutes, so they aren’t the most important feature of these chord machines for myself and (I would imagine) most others.
That’s why I don’t want to pay the high price for the plug in.
My take is that any reasonably user focused company would have released the plugin to the users for free as a thank-you for buying their overpriced 1-octave keyboard.
Seems like they’re gouging users twice!
I have had a few of these things - Kordbot, Chordcat etc…But its all fiddly buttons and tiny screens and no cohesive way of incorporating keys into the progressions - its just hitting chords in a clunky way…But this Neoharp looks far more intuitive and natural way of playing (ie using both hands)…Yeah it doesnt look as cool as the Orchid but i know itll be far more playable
