What's next for Elektron?

Could be wishful thinking, but the Overbridge update on a Tuesday seems to be a day earlier than Wednesday… They incremented the DTII / DNII firmwares as well, so if anything else was going to happen this week, that leaves:
A4
AR
OT
ST
Or a new announcement of some kind …

Nah, probably wishful thinking

Harmonize feature like in oxi one for all sequencers

Wavetable Import for digitone / DN2

If I had to bet A4 is next, DT 2 and DN2 firmware update this week was inevitable, so the digit are now aligned with Overbridge integration and bugs free, for now.

Why would they have 2 topics in 1 week when spreading it out keeps them longer in the press

model: samples/cycles mk2 (with out update)

There’s precedent I believe, that’s why I suggested it. But it’s also definitely wishful thinking :slightly_smiling_face:

I hope there will be an Overbridge App (or AUv3 plugins) at some point in the future?

To make use of the Mobile environment / tools available on a per channel/track basis

Or maybe a standalone Elektron Overbridge hw audio interface (d/a converter) So you can route audio to a mixer/external fx chains etc without needing a laptop/desktop + interface/converter + DAW/routing setup crap programming headaches…

(on my todo list: build a custom Digi sized faderfox type midicontroller to instantly play with parameter CC (without jumping menu’s going under the hood - kike the minitaur i once owned for a short while that was kind of sh* to tweak freely IMHO) An additional controller haf the size of the digi as an accompaniment that snugs up nice right beneath it - moving the inputs/outputs to the side for example) Maybe fit an oled, with a custom GUI in there as well and an A / B button to e.g. switch quickly, therefore needing half the buttons/rotary knobs to do all of the desired soundshaping on the fly)

Would be even more awesome if @Elektron made one obviously: a half sized accompanion digi-controller / midi-controller. Like the digi series, with a few banks / knobs and the nice set of push-rotary btns, but having 16 opposed to 8. And having the modulation options in there as well - kind of like a stripped down midi awesomeness only half-sized digi?

To expand on the Standalone HW Overbridge (a/d converter with physical outputs) maybe this could be another nice companion to have?
Also with a nice Oled GUI and internal digital routing possibillities / hooking up multiple Elektron devices for routing / group bussing before outputting to the available set of analogue outputs?

I bet many Elektronauts would rejoice :metal:

Thanks @Elektron for your consideration

Tack!

PS: maybe have routing presets?
And ofcourse as a bonus, additional AUX send fx possibillities? So the 2nd propsed device would be like a mixer a/d converter of its own kind.

Or have it ‘full sized’ and add sequencing / TRiGs to the mixing/routing that can also be triggered / recalled by external cc?

Anyhow i should sleep now instead of meditating and trying to manifest new Elektron gear into existance, cheers :metal:

I think about an overbridge breakout box almost every day.
It would be a great hit, instantly expanding all the current products line up (bar OT) and an instabuy for a lot of us with at least a Digi sitting on the desk.

Now that we have so much more possibilities with 16 tracks on the new Digis, being able to send some of them to a different output would be killer. I think that’s the actual biggest limitation, as having only a single send for each of the FXs it’s so frustrating when you have both rhythmic and melodic sounds in the same machine.

I’d also love an AUv3 Overbridge App to freely route tracks around in AUM

Plus one for this

Imagine a device like the 1010music bluebox with a bunch of sends and inputs so you can route single Digi tracks to separate pedals

I think about similar stuff a lot too. Imagine being able to route individual tracks over to a Midas console, be able to use its preamps and mix everything dawless. Dream come true.

Over bridge on the iPad would be amazing plus transfer on iPad would be amazing to.

Not much into sampling find it a quite a hassle in fact hence why my digitakt doesn’t get as much use as it should do. But think it would get a lot more use if I could have a a library of samples on my iPad that is easily transferable to the digitakt.

yes anything overbridge with a pattern view of all the trigs on all the tracks,
and a project / pattern / soundpool manager please Big E

plus :
polyphony for digitakt 1&2 and syntakt
granular engine for digitakt(2) + sample editor
additive synth for digitone (2)
vo machine ( from monomachine ) for digitone (2)
neighbor fx machine for digitone (2)
multimap for DN2
performance mode for DT(2) & DN(2)

lot of work for E!

Elektron made iOS app similar to AUM with Overbridge inbuilt.

I would love this. A really simple one like trig on/off for as many steps as the device supports (eg 128 for DT2, 64 for DT1) on iOS, osX would suit me)

That would basically be like a tracker style interface for your Elektrons. Would make a lot of sense.

I would love to see per track fx. Way to allocate fx when exporting tracks into daw.
It’s a bit tedious whenever I want to export tracks and following fx

Let be clear I’m way faster on the device itself than with a mouse , it would be a visualization tool to help me compose more intricate parts between tracks

I can’t see the DT II getting extended sample functionality (manual chopping) unless it is Elektron’s only sample-based instrument in production.

I don’t think the Tonverk will be a sample-based instrument (the func. key isn’t orange for one). To me it is more likely to share some existing machines, add some legacy instrument type functionality through new machines (monomachine, drummachine…) and that the “sound wave” icon with the word editor is for accessing wavetable editing.

Further, while I can’t see Elektron doing an analog synth, I can see them doing a hybrid. Having analog filters in a wavetable synth is a proven approach. Having 8 stereo A. filters would be a lot more than any past instrument. There needs to be a reason for the 4 Bus/midi channels in the build pic. If the “Bus” channels had an A. filter each that would fit… Or it could just be a way of sharing a limited LFO pool.

TLDR: 1. DT II isn’t getting manual sample chopping. 2. Tonverk looks like it will have wavetable functionality, existing machines and some inspired by legacy Elektron instruments, possibly with some analog filters or shared LFO functionality on the “Bus” channels.
