And that’s per track too!
FX and CV tracks have LFOs as well, right?

MD offers you 16 wild, free-range LFO’s for you to fiddle around and you can assign them all on one of your given sounds
To me this also makes most sense for makebelieve OTmk3 next to a hypothetical Digitakt MK2 (and the DT Mk1 being very popular anyways).
For some future iteration of Octa to move more dedicatedly in the direction of master mixer/looper/fx (instead of focus on sampler); it’s also interesting to consider the rise of DJ mixers being used a live mixers for all kinds of gear by live acts, as changing field of competitors for something like OTmk3. Am I right in thinking that that’s a development lately? (I could be wrong)
Ohhhh … yes please
I occasionally think about picking up an analog synth to complement the core OT/DN setup I have. I don’t usually look into the Analog 4 as I want to try for a little diversity in the setup. Then I read stuff like this and realize how flexible and potentially interesting it could be to work with the A4. The CV outs would be then be a nice extra too.
We definitely need a Linn Drum clone.
Oh wait … wrong forum!
Today I’ve learned that that’s pretty much a Roland MC 707. Never looked into it bcs I’m not much into one-thing- does-it-all solutions (aka grooveboxes) but dang, that thing is powerful…
In a box, please😉
With a strong line, like all the way
Playing nice cross-feedback delay the real one
My favorite to perform it on live or studio
With
Two big jogwheel to juggle in Depth and Time parameters.
And a nicely reverb, echo, gate to complete easily the job’box.
This will run man!!
A-N-Y-T-H-I-N-G …with more than 8 fricken voices or tracks!!!
Lots of voices would have to be its main feature and they’d have to rework the sequencer architecture as it is currently very tailored to individual voice control. Also knobs and buttons would likely be sacrificed because they’d have to use a more powerful CPU platform which is more costly - and Elektron has a rep for valuing sound quality and I doubt there is a market for a $1000+ thing, especially if it didn’t have a keyboard. I also doubt they’d put out a high-polyphony device without a built-in keyboard of some kind.
Actually, I think what they did with the Digitone was rather good. And you could put more than 8 there…
Imagine and Elektron device with the Mo-DX synth engine. Layered multisamples and FM/subtractive would be amazing in the elektron format.
Definitely looking for physical modelling in my next purchase … and I’m ruling out modular. So it would be nice to see an Elektron product that did things like Modal Resonator, Karplus Strong, Formants. Either a new addition to the models line, or extra machines added to Model:Cycles.
Sounds like a Microfreak.
Yep, if I was to buy right now, only two contenders that would suit me (that I know of), Microfreak, or Minilogue XD.
A digital multi synth engine box has been missing from the lineup since Monomachine was discontinued, so it would make a great addition to have lots of different types in one box, possibly combined with sample layers too (a la Rytm) - think OP-1 but done in the Elektron way. More than 8 voices would be appreciated too, as was mentioned just above
We need a 16 Channel Audio Mixer with USB that allows us to connect all our Elektron gear for Live situations or stream it as Multi-Channel into a Laptop or iPad…yes, OverBridge in a Mixer would be amazing! And some loverly Elektron onboard effects would be a treat as well
My Digitakt has me hooked on Overbridge, though a sticking point is that I can’t get OB audio to line up with my Focusrite (it’s always slightly off, no matter what I do with Ableton’s latency settings). If there was an OB mixer/soundcard with lots of inputs that would be brilliant.
How about a Digitakt mk2 or a Rytm mk3 with stereo sampling, slicing, time stretching and adequate amounts of on-board storage? No, I don’t care if it cannibalizes the Octatrack. My 4 year old Toraiz SP-16 can do all those things. The only thing I miss is the Elektron style sequencer.
add to that a linear arranger and a high polyphony count for a digital synth engine.
I will never sell my OT. But I would buy said fantasy stnth.
