It proves only that people don’t understand that there are guidelines in place to keep the forum tidy and civil… this hot topic is creating a massive amount of admin, for every opponent of the move there’s a proponent. What’s clear is that the promotion of firmware hacking of current gear is not being implicitly condones here. Every comment about it then results in somebody promoting it, linking to it etc … it’s wack-a-mole.
People don’t need to like the fact that this isn’t being condoned but surely people see that this is a manufacturer’s support forum, it’s hardly appropriate to blur the line.
The incessant nature of people referring to this, despite it being uncomfortable for Elektron has meant that it’s best channeled in a single discussion topic about that so that folk avoid posting about it here there and everywhere.
People will flag this stuff, because they recognise the need for a tidy and civil space … people moaning about flags are just creating the most tedious of additional admin and this cannot continue.
So with respect, read the guidelines, avoid missing the obvious, this topic is for future product ideas that Elektron might undertake … they made it clear they’re not supporting third-party modding so all discussion of that here is off topic.
Keep this one on topic please, muse the news on the other one, but if anybody flags posts for promoting or facilitating hacking those will be removed, this can’t be implicitly condoned or promoted here.
