What's next for Elektron? (Part 1)

An analog synth box with the same dimensions & workflow as the Digitone / Digitakt

I would call it “syntakt” - And add 8 digital voices to the 4 analog voices. Maybe a master fx-track.

That sounds like an amazing device!

True, I was thinking of something soley focussed on analog with greater polyphony etc

That would be great! Maybe the problem with the waste heat needs to be solved first.
Syntakt is already getting very hot.

What do you think will be next?

  1. DN II: new hardware platform as in DTII, 8 bars, 8 tracks, 16 or 32 voices, 3xLFO, maybe some more effects, kits and plenty of updates in the future, including new algorithm and machines

  2. AR III: updated hardware platform, 8 bars, 12 analog tracks/8 analog voices + 4 digital tracks in the style of Syntakt, 3xLFO

A logical step since changing the number of retrigs on hourly clocktower bells was the first plock

Will it come with a battery or plug in only?

self winding, that’s what the lfo is for.

Yes but is e25 hardware mechanical watch like mechanical watches now?

It’s actually a mechanical smart watch but it’s modeled after the Turing machine so all it can do is crack the enigma code (which I hear is helpful in understanding the Euclidean sequencer on rytm).

is this gonna be a running meme now?

is it just me or have the frequency of elektrons os updates slowed down in recent years?

not a criticism at all, just an observation. seems like they used to update their machines more often, tho I could be totally wrong :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:
maybe their frequency hasn’t changed, n if it has I’m sure there’s valid reason for it. maybe it’s me… maybe I’ve changed

I honestly think it’s because there are less bugs (although some prominent ones force the perspective that there are more). It seemed like the older updates were a lot of bug fixes and a few minor QOL things. The few major updates in recent-ish time have made some major improvements so they probably did take longer, and other than a few choice bugs with dtII there doesn’t seem to be anything crippling any of the other devices. Probably see a focus on dtII fixes for a while, hopefully in time see some other cool stuff trickling down to other boxes when it calms down. Who knows though really.
