Hey all,
I’m new here … nice to meet you
I’ve been looking around a while, doing research, getting to know my A4, learning learning learning. I couldn’t track down the answer or any videos about this, to my surprise.
I love that I can use the Overbridge software to record multiple tracks to different audio tracks in Ableton. Really excellent. I’ve noticed the tracks are recorded dry when recorded in isolation. I’m not surprised by that.
What’s a good way to record the Analog Four’s FX on these isolated tracks?
I like automating FX changes per trig. I also like tweaking FX during any performance, including the takes of synths that I am recording. Clearly, I can’t have it all at once… Is there a right way to do this? Can I record the dry takes, tweaking synth params, then somehow route the audio back through the A4 to get a take of FX …? This seems like a stretch, but I figured I’d ask.
Alternatively, do I need to use two Audio Devices in Ableton – Elektron as input, recording only MAIN and have 1 track unmuted a time … and my main soundcard as output, so I can hear what I’m doing? (I always need to hear Ableton as I record, because drums etc. are coming from there.)
Or … are these FX meant for nothing but live performance / all tracks on, hearing main output?
All help much appreciated. Whatever I figure out, with this and other problems, I’m taking notes … and I hope to make nice documents and/or YouTube vids of what I find. So it’s not just for me hopefully
