What was your first piece of gear?

Looks like it’s time to divolge where it all started… Sure SM58 and it still works, purchased in the year 2000.

I had a HR16 that I plugged into a guitar pedal or two. Fun times. it eventually broke and I stupidly threw it out without trying to fix it. Had a mc303 a little bit later after getting the HR. still played guitar then and was wanting to belie the next NIN haha.

For the guitar stuff: A sunburst Epiphone Les Paul, one of the ones made in the late 90s.

Getting into electronic stuff: Circuit Tracks (aka: the gateway drug.)

Hold up, I just remembered this was my first piece of gear. Overlay keyboard that came with my Commodore 64.

A Yamaha PSS-170 when I was a kid in the early 90s.
The first hardware synth I bought with my own money was a Korg Prophecy about 20 yrs ago.

Twas my first synth, which I think I swapped for a Peavey Bandit (without the fancy Celestion speaker). Made a cover of Unkle’s Celestial Annihilation on it which blew my mates mind, cemented my status as a musical genius and paved the way for my current career in I.T.

I had a cheap little synth when I was a kid, a Casio or similar thing but the first synth I bought myself was Doepfer Dark Energy. Great little device and I kinda wish I hadn’t sold it.
