Is there one that stands out for you from the rest?
Machinedrum
[thread ends]
Analog 4 for making drums, digitakt for playing them.
Lately i’ve been loving DN
I’m going to have to go with the RYTM. the compressor and the ability to layer samples over the synthesis engine is really nice.
AR, A4 and Digitakt.
For clean fun, SFX-6. By far.
For serious business, any can be utilised to great rhythmic heights.
I must have condi trigs. AR.
what-s-your-favorite-elektron-for-drums
the one you have
there is a drummer in all of them!
Yep!
Heat … works with any drum from any source
Digitone.
I like using the MNM for fuzzed out distorted drums.
Run it through the AH to tame the sizzle a bit and drive it a little, and brother, you got yourself a stew!
I’ve only had the pleasure using the AR and DN, both fantastic in their own way.
I Like to use A4, Digitakt, Digitone for Drums. Each has its strengths. Mnm was great for glitchy Percussions, MD awesome for those Industrial hard kicking Drums. Especially when in Combi with the OTO Biscuit.
DN. Very modern sounding drums.
Octatrack, with incoming signal as source to make drums. MD UW is 2nd. Others can’t.
Yeh same I have a track reserved in each device for different flavours.
AR mkii - carries most of the load for punchy drums and lovely bottom end controlled nicely with the comp. Also the retrig is worth a mention.
DT - digital sampled glitchy percusion and a silent kick on 1 track to duck the other channels using the compressor
A4mkii - larvely long analog booms and pitch drops
DN - symbols, and nasty FM percussion.
thats a fairly open ended question
but
i like the AR because you can set up velocity as a modulation source, as well as aftertouch and breath control. This is on top of the performance parameters. But with the velocity mods you can get a lot of expression from just playing the pads. It’s a shame the velocity/aftertouch/breath controller mod pages aren’t more quickly accessible, I think they’re one of the more powerful features of the instrument. (A4 has these parameters too)
