It all depends on for whom you make music.
I for myself enjoy jamming, experimenting with sound.
It is not so much about getting things done. I do not care.
I put everything on a digital stereo recorder and do not care about finesse.
It is the process I enjoy not so much the result.
I do not care that others can do much “better” with the same equipment.
I tend to watch tutorials and continue to learn and by listening to old tracks and newer ones I made I sometimes hear progress and sometimes ask myself how I made that tune months ago.
As I never save anything in its complete state, there are only fragments left… but they can be source for new music… It is endless and that is what I enjoy… pure intrinsic fun.
Look at children and how they are sometimes lost in playing and try to copy that
Progress not perfection…
Exactly
I’m never satisfied for very long, nor do I want to be. I guess I feel like sustained satisfaction is the death of artistic drive perhaps? I always want to be moving, exploring, seeking, and thinking…
I like when I’m not satisfied with my music, because it motivates me to do more
exploring is exactly what is necessery to keep music alive.
But I do this while playing and satisfaction is part of the creative process…
IMHO there is no need for faster higher better…
At best it is deeper and wider or simply a new path.
There is no need to compare and for competition…
It is just about making music…
Absolutely. I apologize if I implied there was anything competitive or comparative in my statement. The artistic process is a personal thing.
no need for an apology
I think music and making music is quite an emotional task…
And like in painting or generally art there is no wrong way in the approach of creation.
Yep, agree again. Just sharing my personal feelings about it.
