The topic says it all, what does your live performance setup consist of? Just wanting to hear what people are using and how happy they are with the control/ limitations of their live sets?

Analog Rytm + FaderMaster (8 midi faders)
Analog Four
Monomachine
Nord Drum (seq by A4 CV) + bass overdrive pedal
Mixer + Compressor w/ sidechain EQ pedal

It works, and is portable enough. It gives me everything I need sonically for a techno live set. The only thing I’d like to add is a small looper for some layering and occasional transitions. I do use drum sounds on all the Elektrons, though. So, for transitions the looper is more of a want than a need.

MIDIBOX SEQV4 - Master sequencer

MD MKII - slaved to SEQV4 patterns changed via midi not command

DARKENERGY MKI - slaved to SEQV4 via midi can be controlled via CV/gate but cant get the scaling dialed in well enough… arps mostly and leads…

ACIDLAB BASSLINE - rx’s midi clock

Moog Minitaur - basslines and does it well…

MKS-30 (PG200) - chord stabs and pads

JOMOX Mbase01 - kicks rx’s program changes via SEQV4

Ensoniq DP/4 - fx config’d for 4x1 4 fx sends to A&H MixWizard… Porg change via SEQV4… Fx used Delay verb comp and misc

A&H MixWizrd 16:2 - Great mixer as now I can use all 4 fx sends from the DP/4 send 3 always has a comp so I can use on the Mbase and Minitaur…

RNC 1773 Comp - Tame and round out the master mix…

All this in a roadcase… After 20 years this is what I have come up with and no longer use a computer or sit and arrange a track… Just walk up hit play and go to town always a good time with this rig and lots of hands on control…

Elektron Analog Rytm
Korg PadKONTROL
Korg Elektribe MX
Roland TB-3
Denon DN-X1600

next on the list would be a nice live mixer to replace the dnx1600 and some fx pedals

Just posted some pics of my current iteration of my studio/live setup (pics). It consists of the following…

Monomachine
Analog Rytm
Blofeld
Tetra
Biscuit
Space
midi solutions quadra merge
midi solutions quadra thru
and then, a mx28 to mix all my signals for stereo output.

As for my studio, the stereo output goes into a stereo compressor, RMS755, and finally, into a stereo recorder, DA3000.

If anyone has any videos of their live set I’d love to check it out. I have never performed live outside of with a band playing guitar and really interested in that direction at some point. Any pointers would be appreciated!

I play 2 different livests/rigs.

First one consists of Tempest for main drums and synth parts and Octatrack for additional Percussion live sampling and crossfader transitions.

The other one is Tempest, Rytm and Octatrack but honestly i find it very difficult to operate on three machines at the same time.

I’ve played out with my techno act once before and I used a Machinedrum, Volca Keys, Volca Bass and MS20 mini. I had patterns pre programmed but also improvised. I used the MS20 for drones and lead improvisations.

I am currently getting ready for my 2nd techno show with different kit. I will be using my Machinedrum and Monomachine only. The Machinedrum satisfies all of my drum needs and the Monomachine provides all of my synths. Improvising will be done with knob tweaks and pattern altering. I like to keep the gear minimal.
