There is a new Jon Hassell release of one of his last concerts but it’s subtitled Pentimento vol 3 so I went back a few years and found Listening to Pictures (Pentimento vol 1) which had completely passed me by. Very good.
just started listening to this. hoping for some gems to be found.
Have been visiting Basel, and found a copy of this one in a very nice record store. (Plattfon Records on Feldbergstrasse.) Haven’t really thought about Boredoms in a long time, so totally a trip down memory lane - and still an incredible album!
from here – Post-Geography 1st October 2026 | Listen on NTS
Good show Post Geography. One of my favourite NTS shows.
yes! been loving this too: pre-order for the repress on Opal Tapes just went up yesterday too, tempted!
Having a bit of a Rustie Fest today ![]()
I saw some social media chatter around this (mainly comprised of young people being excited and my fellow oldies saying “what the hell is this and why is it on XL”). Initially hated it (the screaming, primarily), but found myself listening to it repeatedly out of morbid curiosity, and now have to admit that I genuinely like it, and I’m glad that ‘the kids’ (who I guess are in their 20s) are doing odd stuff like this.
The naive, plinky-plonky synth melodies remind me of Slagsmålsklubben, which is never a bad thing.
refreshingly straight up “let’s go, techno”, rarely see this kind of stuff released these years…
also, really just dig this album.
all the tunnel trance force stuff slaps tbh, reminds me of being a kid :3
listening back on my sony mini disc player in bed dreaming big with no worries in the world sigh
