Walker Brothers’ singles are often really great 60s pop, with the odd gem here and there.
Scott 1 - 4 contain a huge amount of great music, with some MOR schmaltz thrown in here and there, Scott 3 being probably my favourite.
Scott’s four tracks on Nite Flights are for me the start of the comeback, and everything from this point forward is gold. I count this run of records as an equal to anything else in music.
It’s funny but loads of musicians I really like always cite him as a major influence and I like most of what I hear from him but I’ve never really dug deeper. Until now.
Free download of an excellent bit of ambient noise released on a small label associated with Chain Reaction before being taken on by Robert Henke. Worth a listen if you like texture and slowly shifting drone works.
On most days I’d say this is my favourite song ever. I also love the first four solo records. Have to get my hands on the Scott Walker documentary again soon.
