What Are You Listening To Lately (Part 2)

A beautiful piano-only version of this Max Richter track.

Its funny and kind of amazing how much musical tastes and habits can change over the years.
The music I produce is on the fringe of dungeon synth but I listen to very little from the genre.
I’m getting way more into ambient. I cruised the ambient subreddit’s best of 2024 and found some stuff I really like (Skee Mask, Bibio, Rod Modell, Nala Sinephro).
We have a family ritual to listen to Pat Metheny in the mornings and that hasn’t changed.
My other chill music for home is Khruangbin.
At night I usually listen to black metal (Yellow Eyes, Blut Aus Nord, or Grifteskymfning).

Very funny, I didn’t know this style.

I discovered Kiasmos last year with their album. It’s now in my top 10 of all time album list. And i put Kiasmos now in GOAT category. I already knew about Olafur Arnalds in movie soundtracks and some collaborations. But shame on me i missed Kiasmos.

I have been listening to EVERYTHING they have done for months.

This chap, who the YouTube algorithm randomly fed me. I have no idea who he is, just some randomer. Doing live dub mixes of classic reggae tunes, using AI separated stems, a couple of effects plug-ins and an old school Tascam desk. It’s remarkably well done as these things go. Have been happily browsing through his pile of recent uploads this afternoon.

Check Georges Dub too…

Totally silly, totally Eurovision-worthy.

@surgeonsgirl has huge talent, thank you for spotting this @Tchu!
Right up my alley, nice intersection between minimal techno, analog sounds and ambient.

I really like what she’s doing, she looks passionate.

Olafur Arnalds and a Eurovision Song Contest winner might sound like a strange collaboration but obviously Loreen’s got an incredible voice so I knew it would work beautifully.
