This , a few times
Nick Cave and Warren Ellis Carnage.
I tried to listen to this a few months ago but couldn’t quite get into it.
I’m currently listening on my headphones next to my little campfire in the middle of a field in Fife (Scotland) at 1am alone (my wife and son are sleeping in the tent) and I’m pretty blown away!
It has often been the way with Cave albums. Some have taken me years, or hearing the album live but most become favourites for a while.
My 6 latest Bandcamp purchases:
I think the Ambalek album is one of Seil’s greatest so far. A delicious array of textures, beautifully interwoven.
My 6 latest wish list additions to the “listening booth”:
Just revisiting some of my favorite videos.
Some very familiar titles/covers on there. As for your wish list - ‘Gestalt’ is excellent & r beny never fails. I shall check out the others though as they’re mostly new to me.
Such a great video. Directed by Spike Jonze, starring Sofia Coppola. It feels somewhat pertinent with the Olympics happening right now.
Yes, R Beny is reliably wonderful. I like what I’ve heard of Gestalt after a partial listen.
I had a fragmentary hand in Terra Incognita with my Leeds brethren, which I would heartily recommend if you’re looking for something a little bit different, in a good way.
“Leeds brethren”? Very much interested in fellow Yorkshire folk making intriguing noises!
Lately, I’ve discovered Serge Geyzel throughout Karsten Pflum. Records usually get a daily spin over the course of the last few weeks!
